Eldhose Birding Lodge

Very good place for Bird Watchers in Thattekad. They work as a team. I guess this is the place which has the best team in Thattekad because most birding places we went, our team was dominating. Ashy Eldhose is an excellent organiser, meticulous details. Vimal is an experienced guide, but he needs to improve his communication skills. Amy aunty gives very good Home Food and hosts guests at her house itself. Our room had asbestos ceiling and was quite hot only in the afternoon. A false ceiling below the asbestos ceiling would rectify this. We noticed that the 3 person room did not have this issue. Lot of birds with in the property itself. We found it slightly costly compared to others, but with their hospitality and birding help, I think it is justified. Overall very good experience.

The stay was good. The host was kind and showed hospitality. We took the package without food, the package with food was expensive. Upon prior request, they will arrange food. There are plenty of birds in the property. One can just roam around and will have a good birding experience. After reading reviews , we requested a guide for birding in Thattekkad. I felt the guide was not a professional. My recommendation would be to find a guide on your own and set expectations aprior.

Birding Tour was excellent. Vimal is a very dedicated bird guide indeed. Managed to pick most of the species I missed in my previous visit. Food and hospitality at the lodge was great. Family friendly as well. Shall return for more great experience.

Visited this property, early this week. The booking was very easy , well handled by Else Eldhose. Mrs . Eldhose was very helpful and showed me the room and explained the birding opportunities. The rooms were clean , food was excellent home cooked meals. The birding experience was beyond my wildest imaginations. The hides were as advertised , with plenty of birds. The tours into the forest with guide Vimal was an experience. His experience , knowledge and willing to help, made the birding exciting and enjoyable. Night birding is something , you should not miss. Thank you, Eldhose resort and guide Vimal for such a memorable experience. I will surely come here again and highly recommend this resort and the guide

Nice cosy accomodation. Superb service. Guests are looked after in the best possible way. Birding opportunity provided by them remains one of the best in the locality. Their naturalist and guide Mr. Vimal Niravathu appeared to be knowing every corner of the jungle around and his spotting of the target birds even during night time was more than excellent. Without his relentless efforts, my birding trip to Thattekad would not have been so successful.

We stayed for 4days. Amazing arrangements. Amazing guide. Amazing food. I really enjoyed as bird photographer.

I was so excited to go Birding in Kerala. I loved everything about this place. Peaceful. Beautiful and so Educational A big shout out to my guide Vimal. Knowledgable and patient with this newbie. If you get a chance go in late fall winter You will not regret it

It's not about luxury, it's not about relaxation.I was there for Birding and it was sufficient for me. I heard a lot about this house before, I have read several articles about Eldos. Unfortunately he was not there but his presence was felt everywhere. I was very happy with the cleanliness of the house, they have maintained it very well. Foods served there were delicious.
