This is the perfect Homestay if you are looking for somewhere quiet. It has the beach and the backwater so you can watch the sunrise and the sunset. The rooms are simple and clean. Scenic view of backwater in front and Kavvayi beach is situated a few meters on the backside. We hired a speed boat ride to mangroves and had a trip enjoying backwater boating. It was around a half hour trip. In the evening we enjoyed a walk on beach and while children played in beach sand and water. We had ordered Idiappam and Stew, Rassam Rice, Cauliflower vegetable and everything was very tasteful. At sunrise, fishermen were fishing in their small boats in backwaters and the view was just amazing. The road to reach the beach house travels through dence coconut trees and in itself is an excellent experience.

I stayed at Kavvayi beach house for 3 nights and it is undoubtedly one of our best vacations. We were a group of 6 including senior citizens and teenagers and the fact that all of us had a memorable stay speaks volumes about the hospitality extended by Mr. Ravi and Ajeesh. The location is spectacular. You have the backwaters on one side and the beach on the other. We woke up to seeing the sunrise at the creek and ended our day withthe sunset at the beach. The beach is almost a private one and is clean. The food was yummy and they accomodated all our requests for special keralite delicacies. A thing to note here is that it is a homestay and that too in a remote locations. So the earlier you place your orders the better for you, We were always served food on time. The service is excellent. Ajeesh the soft spoken, polite caretaker os just a call away. Mr. Ravi was also always available to guide us and support us Activities include kayaking, cycling, visiting the mangroves. They also arrange vehicles to visit Bekkal fort and other tourist spots. You also have a ferry service. We even hopped on to the ferry and went upto the naval Academy and back. Houseboats are also available. It is definitely a place I want to return to after retirement and spend a month or more.

A serene place to wave of monotonous city life.. an perfect escape to nature's lap enjoying both sea and backwaters. Rooms are very nice, ac works perfectly well and restrooms are neat and clean. The food they provide is really delicious.. every dish was cooked by local women... We enjoyed the stay every moment

One of the most beautiful places in Kerala with great view of the backwaters from the room and beach on the back of the homestay. Not much known to people, so it's peaceful and you feel like you are in a private island. 1) Very friendly staff. 2) Amazing traditional homestyle cooked food. 3) Great clean private rooms with Air Conditioning. Cost of the rooms per night is also very reasonable. 4) Amazing view from the rooms. 5) Loved the place with the Swing near the front porch which is amazing in the evening for star gazing. 6) Beautiful clean Beach at a walkable distance. 7) Beautiful mangrove forest nearby to visit to which the staff will arrange speed boats at an additional cost. All in all, this is a Great place for couples or family to have a peaceful time together.

Beautiful location, could not have asked for a more serene & peaceful experience. The cost of the stay is slightly on the higher end but if you're looking for an absolutely peaceful and private time with your friends/family/partner, this would be the one to go for. The food is amazing (home cooked meals), one can go kayaking to the mangroves and enjoy the backwaters, and right across on the other end one can find the sun, sand and the beach :) I visited in first week of February so the weather was just right as well.

Excellent setting. Host on site gives you service that surpasses any doubts you had after your dealing with the owner who doesn't stay on site. We had booked the whole place for 10 of us. In all rooms, fan and AC may not work satisfactorily. Food is outstanding, but you need to order in advance. Likewise for beer. You can reach this place by car if you take one of the two bridges that connect this 18-20 km long strip of land sandwiched between backwaters and the sea. But Govt ferry service reaches you quite close to the Homestay. And if you take private speed boat (max 7) for just 250 for a single boat trip, it drops you directly at the Homestay. We had to buy Toddy before we boarded the boats. Likewise, any namkeen, fruits, special items - you need to order in advance or buy before reaching. It's also possible to make a short trip to mainland via boat to get stuff. There are no stores nearby. Southern end of the land strip is reserved for defence and closed for civilians.
