Mannaas Veedu

We had high expectaions for Mannasveedu Homestay, thinking it would be one of the highlights of our trip, but unfortunately, that was not the case. Upon arrival, we were disappointed to find our room had remnants from the previous guest, such as dirty towels on the floor. The dispensers in the shower were not functional, the towels were unclean, and we had to wait a frustrating fifteen minutes for hot water. To make matters worse, our friends discovered that there was no water in their shower at night. The tours arranged for us were problematic as well. The elephant center was shocking, with three elephants tied up, and while the bamboo boat ride was pleasant, it certainly did not justify the nearly hour-long drive from the hotel. In the evening, we visited the Hare Krishna temple, which was supposed to be a special experience. However, our guide from the homestay had limited knowledge and poor English skills, making the visit quite disappointing. The following day, Alex, the owner, took us on a mirror-making and painting tour, which was a bit more interesting. As for the food, it was good, with lunch served on banana leaves featuring traditional dishes. Overall, Mannasveedu Homestay did not meet our expectations and we decided to leave after one night, feeling quite let down.
