Tea County Munnar

Date of stay: October 2021 Visited Munnar with family that includes a senior citizen and a child. Ease of access, close proximity to the town and family friendliness were the criteria this time. Hence picked this. Booking, though done at last minute, was smooth and quick. During booking I was told all royal suite independent cottages were not in service due to renovation, but I saw guests staying when I reached there. Not sure how to go about booking these rooms. Would try earlier next time. Anyway, I got some deals and discounts in other room types,s o no complaints. Front desk, security and restaurant staffs were courteous and helpful. Service was on par with any private resorts. I would say KTDC should be taken as a model for other government enterprises in the country for their professionalism and quality of service. Property had good vibe, especially the older rooms. Lightings and furnishings were classy and ample enough to make the stay comfortable. Initially booked suite room. Room was old but surprisingly neat and tidy. Given the climate, it's not an easy task to keep the place fresh and mould free. Kudos to the house keeping staffs. Our room was facing the town and a hill. We didn't quite enjoyed the all the hustles and happenings, so moved to a room far from the reception, which faces the backside of the resort. Morning and dinner buffet had decent spread. Staffs were eager to accomodate our special requests for the child. It was a long weekend and I could see restaurant staffs working hard to address the sudden spurge in guest visits, without forgetting to smile! Need to improve parking facility Covered, paved parking is a must for this resort. It was quite a herculean task to park and retrive the car in the muddy, uneven surface particularly during rainy later hours. Overall, a great place to stay right in the middle of the town. With rooms chosen carefully, we can even get some slice of seclusion and peace, if needed. I now feel encouraged to explore other KTDC resorts in the stay all because of the quality of service I experienced here at KTDC Tea County. Room tip: Ask for newly renovated rooms (E,F,G etc) facing the valley in the backside.Show

We had a great 3 night stay at Tea County. The hotel is in a lovely location and just a short (but hilly!) walk from the centre of Munnar.|Our room was very spacious and immaculately kept. The gardens are fabulous with many beautiful plants and are very highly maintained. |The staff were extremely attentive and helpful. They organised a car and excellent driver to take us around the tea plantations and tea factory. |Breakfast was plentiful, but we would have liked more fruit options. There was only papaya each day.|We can highly recommend Tea County if you are staying in Munnat.

Prime Location and surrounding/climate within the KTDC was great.|Food: Complimentary breakfast was good. Evening buffet was good. Room service food was okay but expensive. Very friendly staff. It's better to visit and check the room before check-in... based on the availability.

Wonderful property for a pleasant and comfortable stay in the centre of Munnar, situated on a ridge. Kettle, bottled water and tea kit available in room. Electric heater and fan available in room. Restaurant in the property offers complimentary buffet breakfast as well as delicious lunch and dinner with a variety of Kerala food. Gardens are very well maintained and are the major attraction. Nice walking area within the property. Umbrellas are available at few places where these may be required during rain. Staff are very polite, readily help guests in handling luggages during checkin and checkout, and no one expects tips anytime, something unique to Kerala.

We(couple) stayed for 3 nights Rooms were neat and offered great balcony views. Ample parking space and approach road is good as well(we had sedan). Complimentary breakfast buffet had nice spread, though the menu is limited for food ordering, the taste and quality was satisfactory. They also arranged the vehicle for sunrise view point(kanukkamalai) on demand Overall service was courteous and timely, would recommend

Excellent stay, very good resort, spacious, neat and clean, and best part is it view from Balcony. Executive room are also spacious and have balcony, entertainment is also available at resort in form of common Big screen room, Billadiars table. Not much options in Breakfast and Dinner.But worth for the price. Has beer and Wine room with affordable rates. Service is not up to the mark, specially during breakfast time. Location is near the market, walking distance. Excellent resort in Munnar with very good and pleasing views, morning sunrise view at resort is memorable

Wonderful experience. Easily one of the best properties at Munnar. Service is praise worthy. Rooms are well designed and spacious. I stayed in Royal Premium Room and the interior decor to the space available everything was fine. Food was tasty however there is scope for improvement. The scenic beauty around the property will take your breath away. Strongly Recommend.

A serene and premium stay in the heart of Munnar! Tea County offers a beautiful blend of luxury and nature. The property is nestled right in Munnar town, yet it feels peaceful and away from the bustle. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-furnished with cozy wooden interiors and large windows that open up to stunning views of the hills and tea gardens. The landscaping is excellent, with well-maintained gardens, walkways, and spots to just sit and take in the scenery. You can literally wake up to the mist rolling over the hills--it's that magical. The staff are polite, attentive, and always ready to help. The in-house restaurant serves good food with a variety of options (though prices are on the higher side, it matches the resort's standard). There's also a small Ayurvedic wellness center and a recreation room to keep you relaxed and occupied. Parking is ample, and since it's run by KTDC (Kerala Tourism Development Corporation), everything is professionally managed. You're also very close to many popular Munnar attractions. Overall, Tea County is perfect for families, couples, or anyone looking for a peaceful, nature-filled, and premium stay in Munnar. Definitely worth the experience!
