Neat place to stay! A short 200-300 metres of uphill walk from the main road to reach the stay. But the view from there is really good. Also it is very near to saravana bhavan.

I had a truly delightful stay at Rheinburg Homestay! The highlight of my visit was the stunning hilltop view of Munnar city, with its breathtaking vistas of lush tea plantations. Waking up to such a beautiful sight was unforgettable. The homestay also boasts a well-maintained garden with an impressive variety of flower plants, adding a serene and colorful touch to the entire experience. The peaceful atmosphere and the natural beauty surrounding the property made it a perfect getaway. If you're ever in Munnar, Rheinburg Homestay is a must-visit spot for a relaxing and picturesque stay !!
The cottage is good and spacious for family.service is decent and quick. However it's ideal for young and fit couples or bachelor's who would like to take the steep climb up the hill to reach the cottage as the road is steep and narrow, hence cars have to be parked at a distance. Hence the climb up and down for breakfast and basis requirements is a trek on the road. Not ideal for old people and kids from convenience and safety standpoint. It would be good to keep some basic cutlery like plate and spoons and at least a kettle for hot drinking water.
Nestled near the Munnar Bus Stop, this aesthetically pleasing retreat is perfect for first-time visitors to Munnar. Just a five-minute stroll from the town center, it combines tranquility with convenience, making it a great value for your stay. The accommodations are clean and spacious, featuring two charming standard rooms and one elegant deluxe room. Thoughtfully designed, each space offers a cozy ambiance. Be sure to book ahead, as this hidden gem fills up quickly. Enjoy the comfort of 24/7 hot water, enhancing your relaxing getaway. Experience the beauty of Munnar while enjoying the serene atmosphere of this lovely stay.
Our stay at this property was disappointing even before we got there. The "caretaker " called us up asking what time we will reach. Despite informing him that we will reach at noon, he kept calling us up. He said he has some personal work & will go once we arrive. We found it hard to find the property because it's not easy to locate. You have to walk up a steep & isolated narrow track to get there. Once we reached in the vicinity we could not identity the property because the gate & the name board were covered with laundry drying on them. What a poor welcome! To make things worse the over zealous caretaker was missing. Although we reached at the indicated time, he decided to vanish. When we called him up he was evasive & rude. He told us that a lady is at the house to receive us. This lady was merrily relaxing in one of the rooms & not there to open our room. After 30 minutes they emerged- unapologetic & rather aggressive. The place was dirty- the entire area looked like a dhobi ghat (and continued to remain that way despite our pointing out), used bottle was lying leaking on dirty chairs, the rooms were musty & dingy- not aired- the overall feel very down market & sleazy. The rude caretaker was requested to find us an English news channel to watch. 20 minutes after he tried & failed, he confidently tells us that only Tamil & Malayalam channels are possible. Once he had walked out of the room we found the English channels we wanted ourselves using worn out tv controls. No Toiletries were provided. When we threatened to call up the owner, a soap emerged. No kettle in the room. We demanded hot water & some was provided in a flask from the kitchen. Verdict- what would've been a beautiful old world charm property- tucked away in a quiet part of Munnar has been left at the mercy of irresponsible & incompetent staff (caretaker & maid) who are treating the place as their private property. Seeing the condition of the rooms & stains on the walls I will not be surprised that these rooms are being let out on the side without knowledge of the owner. The false ceiling in our room was caving in as well. No meals are provided at the property. You have to go to town- and if you are not fit, you are in trouble. Not recommended to stay here in it's present condition & management irrespective of the rate offered.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Rheinberg Town Haus, Munnar. The homestay is nestled in a quaint yet accessible location, just a short walk from the main market, making it perfect for anyone looking to explore the town. Do note that it requires a short uphill walk which is quite manageable for youngsters. The house itself is charming and well-maintained, with a beautiful garden that adds a serene touch to the whole stay. A special shout-out to Kapil, who went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. We were in a tight spot, needing a return taxi at the last minute, and Kapil was incredibly helpful in arranging one without any hassle. If you're looking for a cozy, peaceful stay with easy access to the local market and exceptional service, I highly recommend Rheinberg Town Haus!
Nice house owner and caretaker. Caretaker Mr Karthik guided us to reach there and he arranged a safe car parking lot. Great stay, and we spotted deer from our room. Highly recommended for families. Safe and calm
A narrow lane leads to the resort, there are no street lights on that lane and the lane is very steep to climb up. So very difficult to climb up and down for breakfast or any meal. When I stayed there was a power cut for almost 4 hrs and the owner kept saying it will take sometime to restore. I waited till 9pm but when he kept saying it will take some more time. I decided to vacate the room and had to check out and check in some other hotel which luckily I got close by. There are power cuts only in few of the hotels in munnar and this hotel is one of them . It gets dark and scary if one is alone .so for solo travellers be careful before booking this hotel who are scared of darkness like me others can take the chance. Because the house owners have a small garden which makes it beautiful with all kinds of flowers . However because of this a lot of insects some poisonous ones also enter rooms especially with no power. Also the flush in my room was not working which kept spilling water outside the pot making me all wet . The owners are really old and ignorant of these small problems like power cut, the walk of lane and even the flush.
