Zostel Munnar

I stayed at Zostel for 2 nights and overall, it was a good experience with a few drawbacks. The property offers great value for money, especially considering its peaceful location. It's situated in a quiet area, away from the usual crowd, and the view from here is truly beautiful,perfect for a relaxing getaway. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Rahul at the reception was veryhelpful , ensured a smooth check-in and stay. Host Rito was also very helpful.Their hospitality added a positive touch to the experience. However, there were a couple of issues that need improvement. There was a water shortage during my stay, which was quite inconvenient. Also, the cafeteria service was very slow. Even for a cup of tea, the wait time was 20-25 minutes, and dinner took more than an hour on both nights. While the food tasted good, the long wait was disappointing, likely due to staff shortage.

The property was well-managed, located at a scenic location close to Munnar town. The ambience was great and the dorms were clean. The property manager, Jeetu was very polite, helpful and friendly. He was particularly helpful when it came to getting advice about activities nearby. Overall, the experience was spectacular.

The 4-bed dorm at Zostel Munnar offered a comfortable stay. Having previously had a great experience as a volunteer at Zostel Vagamon, we were hoping for a similar vibrant atmosphere, but the social connection with other guests was less prominent this time. A notable positive, however, was the property manager's helpfulness in arranging a last-minute visit to the national park for us on our checkout day. With several hours before our bus, we truly appreciated their assistance in making this possible. Also, we particularly enjoyed the flavorful masala chai.

Our overall stay in Zostel was really good and great. Place was clean and had a good view of the mountains. People were really friendly and engaged. Their restaurant was really good and had a great dining setup, Tapas and his team were really good and helped us even when we went for dinner after the dining hours. Such a friendly environment they created for us.

Overall, it's a decent hostel. People were good, food was amazing all thanks to Thappa. He made us feel welcome and we had lively conversations with him. The only problem was the washroom where we couldn't take any bath because of the brown water and the flush also had its issue. They tried to resolve the issues but they were only temporary.

Had never been to a backpacker hostel before and I'm glad I picked these guys my first time. Chill ambience all round, great food (in fairness I did stick to sensible options each time dining), interesting co-guests, and exceedingly helpful crew. Great conversations with the last two, hope it was mutual LOL. There IS the bit about a descent from the main road that I'd have griped about otherwise. But I'm sure every climb to the sutta shop did me good since I'm a smoker. The exercise I mean. Plus each time I needed an auto there was one available in pretty short time.

We group of three people stayed at munnar zostel last weekend for 2 nights.|Firstly the location was really good , the view is nice and the way to the property also nice bit risky to drive as its very steep but still its nice.|And about the stay, we are not satisfied at all.|The reception staffs were not that friendly and welcoming , second, they gave us the room (mixed dorm) on the first floor where opposite door is their kitchen and because of this the floor was slippery all the time with the food oils ans stuff also in the night the water was leaking from kitchen to the doorway, we always had to take care while walking through it.|Third, we ordered chicken fried rice and we got cockroaches from it , we have reported it and they have changed our food but still its a negative we have got.|However, food was tasty and the guy who is managing the restaurant is also good , his name is tapas , he manages the things well and he knows how to handle the guests very well , 5 stars for him.|And lastly , the house keeping staffs were very rude even the manager,|We had to check out at 10 am and the housekeeping staffs came and informed its time, so we were getting ready after 10 mins the same staff came again and said are you guys checking out we said yes we are getting ready then in rude way he said extend the stay, time is over, he came at least 4 times and every time he comes and keep the door open and go , we were getting ready and also changing our clothes then last time when manager came we said as you can see we are getting ready we'll leave in 5 mins as we were almost done so we asked manager can you please close the door while we change our clothes , then he was like 'who is there to see' is this how a manager should tell the guest ?? That was very bad experience we have got. Overall it was a worst experience.|Not satisfied at all.||Positives are,|The location was good|The food was tasty|The restaurant guy was really good , polite and friendly .

Stayed at this backpacker hostel and went with the dorm. It's got a chill vibe, food's good (actually fair for in-house pricing), and the staff was real helpful. Chatted with some co-guests, hung around the vicinity but i didn't venture farther than the nearby shops.||||The walk back to the main road COULD BE a bit annoying for some thanks to the ascent, although Zostel explicitly mentions this on their website. However, I didn't mind the climb all that much since I smoke and needed to grab sutta quite a few times, and I'm sure the exercise did me favors. And if you're in a hurry the front desk can call you an auto and those guys show up FAST.||||Got the 6x dorm, upper bunk. It was clean, comfy, had a small balcony and attached bathroom.||||They've got a top-floor common area with a bonfire pit.
