Hotel Sixer

I had booked a room and arrived at the hotel reception around 9:30 PM. To my shock, the receptionist appeared to be heavily intoxicated and completely out of control. He insisted that I hadn't booked a room and told me to call a number to confirm. However, the phone was in his possession, making it impossible for me to verify the booking. When I tried reasoning with him, he became aggressive and shouted at me, denying my reservation altogether. It was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. I've traveled extensively across India and stayed at many hotels, but nothing has come close to this level of unprofessionalism. I had no choice but to leave immediately. I strongly advise others to avoid this hotel at all costs.

Hotel Sixer is one of the oldest bars in Mavelikara, known for its long-standing reputation. The ambiance is lively, and the service is generally good. The drinks are reasonably priced, and the staff is friendly. However, during evening hours, it can get quite crowded, making it difficult to find seating or enjoy a quiet time. Despite the rush, it's a great spot to unwind with friends and enjoy drinks in a casual setting. If you're visiting in the evening, it's best to arrive early to avoid the crowds.

Rooms are not that much spacious. A very tiny toilet and shower was dripping not functional. Felt suffocation due to over usage of air fresheners.

Good Rooms and excellent customer service

Good for short stay. Easy accessable. Since bar is there car parking is little tough on Normal time

I have been staying here in this hotel whenever I visit Mavelikara. Noticed that the Housekeeping, maintenance during the initial stage keep on declining. Matter of fact,the Housekeeping service is very poor. The bed linen needs to be changed or laundry services need to be improved. The bath towel is so rough,that it may cause bruises on your face and body. Looks like the management is comfortable with it's captive customers who doesn't bother about all these. The restaurant food is as good as before, Infact, if you like to enjoy good food, you need to visit Sixer. The front office staff are very courteous.

A good budget hotel in the heart of Mavelikkara town. Clean room and washroom. We took an a/c double room. There are non-a/c rooms too in the hotel. Well-behaved and courteous staff. There is a bar downstairs. But it's detached from the rooms. So rest assured! There's no disturbance of any sort to guests in the rooms. There is an in-house restaurant too. Walking distance to Mavelikkara Private bus stand and Transport bus stand. From the railway station, the hotel is a 5 to 10 minute drive, depending on the traffic. There are a few vegetarian restaurants around the hotel, like for instance, Lakshmi Cafe. The famed Sri Krishna Swamy temple is just a 5-minute walk from the hotel. The equally famed Kandiyoor Siva temple, known for its impressive temple architecture and large courtyard, is a 5-minute drive from the hotel. Equally accessible is Chettikulangara Bhagawathi temple. The only drawback- lack of adequate car parking space. ( One can easily park some 3 to 4 cars). There are a lot of open free spaces ( absolutely safe) around the hotel and Krishna Swamy temple, where one can park the car, if parking space in the hotel is full( which is rare). So check with the reception before hand, if you are driving. Safe hotel. Recommended for families and solo women travellers.

Average rooms and clean restrooms for the price they charge for non ac room. Not at all a star hotel. No room service and no toiletries provided. Just maintaining the star tag on the hotel to continue the attached Bar premises.
