SaffronStays Amaya, Kannur

It's a beautiful property, with love care and simplicity at its core. The staff are amazing beyond words. Shinoj is always there for anything you might need, treats the property as his own home and makes sure you feel the same. The food the staff prepares will make you pleased of making the decision to stay there instead of a typical hotel. All in all worth every day ! We stayed for 2 days and were thrilled. It will be a little distant from kannur city centre but you get to really see around a city and all around, when choosing to stay in the outskirts

Far away from noise and in the middle of greenery, this royal residence converted to a home stay, you can't go wrong with it. It's an experience of history with modern creature comfort. Really cordial caretaker and cooking staff. You'd fall in love with the location. Everything in this property has a bit of heritage associated with it. That's what makes it gorgeous and charming.

The 2 star is only because of the price point. The rest everything was amazing The stay is an amazing hidden treasure. You really feel like you are staying in an heritage home. The property is very well maintained and the staff is really amazing and very helpful especially Shinoj. There is so much to explore within the house and its surroundings. The pond is amazing and it really takes your mind back to some movies. 2-3 nights is necessary to really enjoy the place. My only gripe is about the price that saffron stays offered the property to us. We paid around 29k inc taxes for 2 nights for 4 people in one room which is way above what the normal rates around the area. I did contact saffron stays about the price for which they mentioned demand and dynamic pricing etc. I thought the price was because of high demand. However when we reached the property we were the only people in the e.property and we were given one room for four people (2a+2c) which I thought was very small. The room was booked for a Sunday and Monday night so it cannot be justified as weekend rates as well. When I looked up the rates afterwards or now the prices are at least 1/3 rd cheaper and also when I look up the independent prices for the property it is 1/3 Rd the price i.e 10k per night while we were offered 30k. My advice to anyone booking through saffron is try to do a bit more research and book independently and not through saffron.

Had a great stay .near to all tourist spots in kannur. Staying here took me back in time, true kerala vibes and yummy sadya was the highlight of the stay . Can't wait yo

The path that leads to the property gives a local Kerala experience. Stay for at least 2 nights to enjoy their hospitality and yummy homemade food. It's a rare opportunity to stay in a house that's 250+ years old.. one can only imagine the memories of the house.

This place is really out of the world! You get the feel of being in a traditional Nampoodiri Illam (Kerala brahmin's house) with all the modern comforts. Extremely well maintained. Very tastefully decorated. There is a pond nearby. The staff, especially Shinoj, was outstanding. He even took us to watch a Theyyam performance nearby. The food was authentic and very tasty. Don't miss the fish. We would love to go back for a longer stay.
