Barefoot Hostels, Varkala

I had a very nice experience while staying at the barefoot hostel. Met and connected with warm soul people, did a lot of surfing, visited surroundings. Rooms in the hostel are very clean and you even got AC at some of them. The owners are always ready to help and discuss. Highly recommend this place if you want to meet and connect with people.

We stayed at Barefoot for a week and we had an amazing time! The owner, Vikas, is a super friendly guy who was also very helpful during our stay. We met heaps of friends while staying here and really enjoyed the terrace / hammocks to hang out during the day. I personally really enjoyed the kitchen as being able to prepare food in a clean and welcoming environment with all the equipment/spices you may need was a welcome change after travelling for a while. We also watched movies using the projector and overall just had a really good time. Highly recommend staying here!

I stayed at the Barefoot Hostel for 5 days and 4 nights, and it was an incredible experience. The serene ambiance and top-notch hospitality by Karthik truly made it feel like home. The hostel offers plenty of activities to engage with fellow traveler's, including board games, a projector for movie nights, a guitar, a skateboard, and more. There are few amazing books available in the book shelf as well. There's also a community kitchen where you can prepare your own food. The rooms are well-maintained, with ample space outside to relax. If you arrive early, there's a restroom to freshen up and a comfortable area to unwind until check-in. The beach is within walking distance, as well as cafes and yoga retreats, making the location even more convenient. This was my first experience staying in a backpacker hostel, and it was truly unforgettable! I will visit again for sure

When I was booking my trip, I was between a few options but the reviews about Barefoot hostels convinced me to try it out. And I was so glad to find out that it was exactly like the reviews described, the hosts Vikas and Karthik both are so friendly and chill. They also helped me with booking all my water sport stuffs and recommended the best cafes around and everything was walkable. The rooms were clean and so was the common area, the washrooms were clean as well. When in Varkala you should definitely go Barefoot!

We had traveled to Varkala and reached there at a very odd hour. The owner, who also stays there and runs the hostel, was very helpful and he did check us in even at that time. He showed us to our dorm and also gave a quick briefing about the property and the facilities. We had a pleasant stay with decent-sized dormitory, clean washroom, and clean bed, pillow & blankets. The check-out time is 10.00 am but I was allowed to use the common spaces to work till afternoon. It was my first experience staying in a backpacking hostel and I am definitely visiting this place again. The experience was amazing and all the credit goes to the owner who ensured that we were comfortable at all the time.

This is the best hostel i have stayed in India! The owners are two best friends that are so chill, kind and helpful! They are always taking care of everyone and everything! The hostel is well located, super clean and tidy. Perfect place for meet people, chill vibes and enjoy the heart of Verkala! The toilets are spacious and cleaned everyday, the common areas amazing! They have books, drinking water, fully equiped kitchen and amazing facilities! The best place to stay!

Barefoot Hostel in Varkala is such a chill spot, perfect for solo travelers looking to meet new people.
