Golden Turtles Beach Resorts

I stayed in this villa with my family and it was a bad experience. When I reached there, no staff there helped me and took money for AC and kitchen separately from me. And from here you will find no restaurant but no shop nearby. And no taxi or auto available. Very flood area.

We had a very nice experience in this resort, the place is very calm and quiet and also clean and tidy. We can just relax at the balcony and enjoy the sea view. It has all necessary facilities and also the care taker is a nice and lovable person. Totally we had a very good time. Thank you for the management.

I stayed here for 2 nights. We were four friends and took up 2 rooms on the first floor with balcony and had and amazing see view. They have parking available and the care taker are very helpful and helped us in navigating to the place. The rooms are very spacious, neat and clean. The best part being you can walk to the beach, also other famous beaches like the light house beach is nearby. Also you have some good restaurants close to the place. They also have a parking area. Are stay here was very relaxing, we also enjoyed our interaction with the fishermen early in the morning.

We hired the whole house for a day to for a family get together but my family members are not at all happy. Actually the place is very good but the facilities provided are not at all upto the mark. When we booked the host din mention there is no TV and all. Kitchen was smelling very bad when we reached. No toiletries provided the towel was also smelling bad. Before booking we asked the host about barbeque facility he said u can do it after booking done we asked the caretaker about that he said it is not possible as some problem is there and locals issue. Host should be knowing all these things. And the TV which is there is older than my grandfather. Overall bad management that's all.

Good guest house and nicely run, as always in India, room for improvements, if you are looking for perfection you won't find it in India unless you pay ridiculous money. The golden turtles is safe,quiet, and clean. Within easy distance to amenities, we have our own scooter so great location. Good value for money,helpful people. Over 25 years believe me we have seen much worse.

Stayed there in Feb 2013, with my wife, child and another friend. Stayed in one of the larger first floor rooms. Liked the place overall, the food was decent, everything was new and well maintained. Since it was almost off season, we were the only guests and i had all the attention of the staff to myself.||||In-spite of some of the disadvantages below, my wife and I really liked this place, may be because it was a quiet place, without the big hotel bustle to stress us out.||||Pros:||- Neat , clean and well maintained rooms / property and reasonably priced.||- Food tasted like home made Kerala food , decent and reasonably priced.||- Nice view of the beach from a distance especially from the first floor room||- Very friendly and helpful staff||- it is like a homestay , which is good but if you are looking for a hotel kind of place, this becomes a disadvantage||- Even though it is surrounded by many houses, the roads are quiet and nice||||Cons:||- Not really on the beach, you have to take a boat across a small lagoon to the other side and then walk for about a km before you hit the actual Kovalam light house beach. If you don't mind the walking , this is not a problem.||||-The lagoon / backwater water is a bit dirty, i guess the resort cannot do much on this as the waters are public property||||- This is the biggest disadvantage, there is no really proper place to dine, the dinner was served in a makeshift bedroom, which felt odd, perhaps they can add a nice dining area in the backside of the property, as guests also value and enjoy the dining experience.||- If anyone likes hotel kid of places and not too much into homestay's, this may not suit them

Really cooperative and friendly staff. The room we stayed in was very spacious and comfortable offering a view of the backwater and the beach. The only downside is that the main beach and restaurants are a bit far from here. Total value for money if you have vehicle of your own.

Summary: Go there but only for one or two days!||Great room with a small kitchen. Great for the price!!!|... but no possibility to go swimming. Backwater is too dirty, the "beach" is 10 minutes away but we could not swim because there were only stones where the waves crashed.|No restaurant in the vicinity, 10 minutes by foot are the next ones. You need a torch to find back in the evening.||It was great to see the real India (its located in the middle of shacks) but also nasty because they BURNED PLASTICS in the afternoon. Also the windows were closed the smoke came in the room.||The owner was nice but came only for the payment, the HOUSEKEEPER IS STRANGE.|LOTS OF MOSCITOS!||
