Tata Caro Homestay

The famous Chamayavilakku is a unique festival which is held at the Kottankulangara Sree Devi Temple, Chavara near Kollam, Kerala where thousands of men irrespective of their religious faith dressed up as women offered prayers to the Goddess Bhagavathy. During my visit to this festival i was very much concerned about a good place to stay and also to dress up as female and follow the temple rituals. When I called the Home stay for the first time itself they were very supportive. As I was a first time visitor for Chamayavillaku Festival I was not much aware about how the festival is going to happen. My decision to stay at Tata Caro was a best decision. The homesaty have all the facilities and for two days i lived in this Home stay as a real female as part of the temple ritual. They had provided me all the necessary help and even since there was a small fitting issue with one of costume they arranged a tailor and helped me out in solving the issue. It was very safe here. If i had booked an hotel room i would have never got these facilities and privacy. The travel from Homestay to temple in a female costume which is almost 8km away was another great experience. This was an unforgettable experience in my life. The vegetarian food they provided to me during the festival was also very delicious. I can very well recommend this place for the participants of Kollam Chamayavilakku Festival. ||||Special thanks to the property owner Rita for providing all the support and care. Had a wonderful experience during my stay at Tata Caro Home Stay for the Chamayavilakku Festival. Me and my husband had a great time there. As a part of prayer my husband had to participate for the Temple Festival. As we were traveling as a part of temple ritual we didn't want to stay in a hotel. As we found this home stay and it was a best choice we made. We had a great homely feel there. The best part was this property is located at a good residential area. The food they served was delicious. My Husband had to dress up as a female for the temple ritual. This place was very suitable for us and we would recommend this place. Also the nice beach near to the property is a good place to spend your evening time.

Twice I have been in Tata Caro Homestay. It was during the times of Kottenkulangara Temple Chamayavilakku Festival. It was a great experience. As a part of temple ritual for two days I had to spend time dressed as a female. So it will be difficult to stay at an hotel. But the Tata Caro Homestay was a best choice for me. During my stay I got many friends who come for the same festival from many other parts of country. We all together had a good time there. We ladies up and down and inside and outside the house. No tension at all, everything was arranged by the Tata caro homestay. It was a real home with good homely atmosphere. As dressed up as a lady much outing was not possible but since Tata Caro homestay has a big compound spend my time coming around the place. The place is also close to Thirumullavaram Beach.

Stayed one night at Tata Caro Homestay in the standard room. Driver had a real problem finding the place so better call for directions straight away. Sita is a friendly and talkative person.|The room was very spacious with a large bed and a bathroom with a bath - all clean. There is not hot water in this option and had no wi-fi.|You can order food, we had a breakfast which costs, but it was very tasty, all homemade and ingredients came from the owner's garden.

Very good experience during my stay Chamayavilakku Festival. As a part of festival has t dress up as a female. Aunt Sita is a very supportive and caring person, she helped us in all aspects like arrange tailor to stitch necessary dresses and make up personnel. we can stay as female without any hesitation during the festival time.

Very nice house, clean and calm. I have stayed there for 3 days. Enjoyed a local Kerla food. Food is remarkable and very testy. House has a big gallery and comfortable bathrooms and rooms with antic furniture. || It's very near from beach, Kollam bus stand and railway station as well, owner Sita is very friendly and helpful who served lots of food, vegetables grown in her own farm.||You will get Rikshwas on rent as well. ||Automan Mohan is also very friendly and helpful.

Arrived in kollam for one night with my family as a part of my friend wedding. This was my family first home stay &enjoyed my stay alot. Aunty(Ms.sita faria)is an very caring person&very friendly &very good food for you healthy&tast .The house is very beautiful with wonderful gardens that grow almost every thing you could need. The house is very clean and comfortable and in a quiet part of kollam||I will recommend this place all ...............

Owner Sita Fraia madam is too much caring and takes care of each and every small things. Food was excellent. Nearer to kollam beach and spa facilities. We got excellent support from sita madam and auto rickshaw driver during kollam chavra festival.||Look forward to stay again.
