Sea Castle Beach Homestay

Francis and Jacquilin make the stay in their home an unforgettable memory. We felt very comfortable at all times and their helpfulness and hospitality was extraordinary. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were always a culinary highlight. It was the best food we ate during our whole India holiday... it was simply super delicious! ||The Backwaters tour which Francis offers is also very recommendable. The room/bathroom was very clean. The view from the small sweet terrace, while you enjoy your meal, is simply fantastic.||We would love to come again!

Francis and Jacqueline were great hosts. Food was some of the best that we have had in India EVER - and I have had many trips to India over the last 20 years - it really is something special. Friendly local family that couldn't do enough for us - made us feel very welcome. Francis is a great guide, very knowledgeable, kind and genuine - I arrived with a broken foot and he did everything he could to make sure we were well looked after while there, including helping with our bags all the way through the train station and waiting over 40 minutes to help us get them onto the train on the day we left. Great chatting to Francis and hearing about his plans - he is so passionate, I am sure he will make them happen. Accommodation is in a great spot, simple and very clean. highly recommended.

Everything was fantastic. It exceeded expectations. Very relaxing. Hosts were welcoming and fantastic eager to please. They showed us the local culture and we felt part of the family. Beach was lovely and peaceful and very enjoyable. Catch the Sea from your doorstep! * Francis and Jacqueline have been great hosts. We really enjoyed the place and the rides offered by Francis. He told several stories about the place and were really interesting. Francis took us to the lighthouse and also to the beach, where we could fly the kites. My son and wife really enjoyed the kite flying and beach in the evening. Food was well cooked and tasty. Francis took us to the Monroe Island and took care of further arrangements for our next travel as well. He did way beyond the expectations. I will be certainly sending my bunch of friends to enjoy the attention! :) * Beach next to the resort is little dirty by nature, otherwise rest all, just to sit and relax on the beach side, it's a great place.

I visited Francis and Jaqueline with my friend three nights at the beginning of the new year. I had a great experience and hope that I will return soon to this wonderful place and this wonderful family.||||Firstly, the room is nice, comfortable and clean. It is situated on the beach, so you can sit endless hours spaying for dolphins, watch the starlit sky, watch the sunset or why not jump in the clean and warm water.||||Secondly, Francis and Jaqueline are such nice hosts. They cook the best food, bring you tea, light insence for you. Francis also went the extra mile and took me on trip so Munroe-island and showed us around the city. I got to experience a temple-festival and Katakali among other sights.||||What I like to most about him is his dedication. He is contantly trying to improve the place and listens to your feedback. He continuously cleans the beach from plastic and has convinced the fishermen to stop throwing their old nets into the ocean. On top of this he is trying to purchase the beach in front of him to create a safe place for turtles to hatch. ||||So in short, if you want a nice room, with more or less your own private beach, eat good food and get some local experience, this is the place to be!

I stayed here in March 2022. Francis and Jacqueline are excellent hosts and she is a very good cook! Her Chai and Coffee also just wonderful. Sea was very rough so swimming was out of the question but I enjoyed relaxing and sat on the bed and watched the waves rolling in. Very relaxing. I will come again.

My friend and I backpacked for a month and decided to splurge and end our trip in Kollam. Originally we were going to spend two days at Sea Castle and then take a house boat in Alleppey, but we pushed the house boat back in order to spend another two nights in Kollam. We had a similar experience to that recounted in most of these reviews. Jaqueline prepared exquisite sea food meals, no two meals were unique. We saw the festival and parade, Francis arranged for us to accompany some local fishermen on a night expedition in their boat at our request. He took us to a local Toddy shop to try the traditional alcoholic beverage, he gave us free reign over his motorcycle to make excursions up and down the coast at our leisure. They could not have been more accommodating. We truly felt like family, and our stay was the most relaxed I have ever been in India. The beach was terrific, a small stretch which was completely empty for much of the day, had clean fine sand and great surf for swimming. Fishermen beached there in the mornings, a treat for me as a photographer. There is more to say but I'll leave it at that.

We stayed at this property for 2 nights in November. Whilst the accommodation is relatively basic, it was clean, homely and Francis is a fantastic host. The sound of the waves crashing on the shore outside ensured we slept well. The food provided for breakfast and dinner was authentic and delicious. The highlight of our 2 week trip in India was the tour that Francis provided on our full day at the Homestay. He genuinely wants his guests to have a great time and love his home town as much as he clearly does. It's worth mentioning that his English vocabulary was better than ours!! He asked us to teach him three new words and we struggled to find three that he didn't already know. It was all good fun. We highly recommend a stay here.
