Kanila Eco Home Stay

Kanila Eco Homestay is truly a hidden paradise amidst greenery and with a nice stream in its backyard. Pictures doesn't do justice as its more beautiful than it appears. It has two rustic rooms with needed amenities like mosquito nets, hot water on request etc for a comfortable stay Vinod along with his wife, children and brother were all so hospitable that you would feel like u are not a guest but more than an acquaintance. Food served was delicious with authentic Kerala flavour and it was reasonably priced & sumptuous too. We dint explore much around visiting places nearby as we were more indulged in taking small walks around and enjoyed spending time in the stream at the back. Village centre is nearby where u can get ur basic needs. Overall, we enjoyed everything it has offered and definitely a must visit if u are looking for some solitude.

Vinod hosted us for few days in February 2023. The cottage has easy accessibility from Kolichal Village. It is beautifully located on the bank of the small river where local people go for swim and batch. The organic - eco accomodation is built by Vinod and his family in traditional Indian style on the verge of jungle. Two spacious bedrooms, two bathrooms ( internal and external) and functional kitchen provide delight experience of local life. Vinod and his wife are providing full board meal. The taste of fresh fruits, vegetables and Kerala cousine is devine. Vinod is friendly guide , ready to help any time. It was a pleasure for us to talk to him and his closest family. Without any hesitation I will be recommending his cottage for anyone who likes to rest from tourist rush places

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful guest house. The accommodation is simple, clean and cool, with a great (private) outdoor shower and with facilities to cook your own meals too. Vinod and his family are the loveliest of hosts; he cooked some fantastic and varied local dishes and took us to some amazing local spots - walking through the rubber trees to a special little swimming place by the river was our favourite. Best of all, we got to know lots of the members of the village who lived nearby - both young and old, and spent plenty of time together sharing smiles and playing games with the local kids. By the end of our stay we were sad to leave as we had made plenty of friends and really enjoyed an authentic slice of tribal life in North Kerala - we will.miss you Vinod and family xx

Kanila Home stay is a wonderful, comfortable, silent place on the shore of a small river in a rural area of north Kerala. It's perfect for those who look for a clean, quiet spot. All the family and friends of our host took great care of us, we ate delicious food, we learned how to make some Indian meals, we went a bit around and enjoyed a lot local festivals. It's a cosy place near a stream,very peaceful, good place to rest and relax, full silence whole day, host Vinod provided homely food, took us around to rubber plantations And river and suggested us a good place called Ranipuram for trekking

He is a fraud. He cheated me off 1 lakh rupees. And, most of the positive reviews on Airbnb and Maps are fake - they are written by his family and friends.

It is a small village located close to Ranipuram. Those who visit this place during the monsoons and winters will never forget Kanila. "Farewell, I'm leaving this rebirth nest made of mandarin leaves ...!"

Peaceful, honest and clean river homestay with all amenities next to a small village with all amenities. Vinod is a superhost and took care of everything. Place just opened some days ago. Higly recommended.
