I stayed here for 5 days and here is what I felt! Pros: 1. The location is quite convenient - close to all the major spots you'd want to explore in Fort Kochi. 2. The people made a big difference. Shibin, Praveen, Joe, Shafan, Fawaz and a few fellow travelers were incredibly warm and helpful. I fell sick during my stay, and they immediately stepped up to help without hesitation - something I'll always be grateful for! Cons: 1. The property is tucked inside a narrow, cramped street, which made access slightly inconvenient. 2. There were an overwhelming number of cats on the premises - easily over 30 - and they roamed freely indoors. The staircase leading to the terrace often had a strong odor due to cat poop, which made it quite unpleasant. 3. The bathrooms weren't well maintained and had cockroaches. Cleanliness could definitely be improved. 4. There was no one present to assist us during check-in, which was confusing - it was unclear who was staff and who was a guest. 5. Hot water was rarely available, and 6. Water supply issues were frequent, requiring us to notify the team each time. Overall: While the people at this Zostel were incredibly kind and made the experience more bearable, the property itself needs better upkeep. I wouldn't recommend it if cleanliness and basic amenities are a priority, but the warmth of the people is worth appreciating.

I had to leave this hostel immediately. The rudeness and unfriendliness of the staff made me feel so uncomfortable. The place, especially reception area stank like mould and dirty feet. From what I saw the bathroom were also mouldy and in general everything is a bit run down. There are so many lovely other stays in Fort Kochi, that you really don't need to stay here. It has been the worst hostel experience so far. I wanted to cancel the booking but the staff just disappeared. Which also leaves the door open for anyone to just enter the hostel and dorms.

Zostel Fort Kochi is an amazing place to stay! The atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming, making it perfect for travelers looking to meet new people. The staff is incredibly friendly and always ready to help with any questions or recommendations about the area. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with a nice blend of modern amenities and local charm. I especially loved the common areas, which are great for relaxing or socializing with fellow guests. The location is also fantastic, just a short walk from the beach and local attractions. Overall, Zostel Fort Kochi offers a fantastic experience for anyone visiting the area. I highly recommend it for its great vibe, helpful staff, and perfect location!

First Ever BAD Experience at a Zostel The location was great--but came at the cost of a sleepless night. Despite complaining early in the day, the AC never worked, and we spent the night relying on a single small fan in a four-bed dorm. The heat was unbearable. Other not-so-small issues: * A family with a child staying in a shared 6-bed dorm? Not ideal. *. Dorm right outside the common area, and people were loudly chatting and laughing well past 11 PM. * No staff at the reception. * Emergency number? Unanswered. * No running water in the washroom. * Dirty pillows and bedding. The day was absolutely beautiful and saved the trip--but the night was a horror show. P.S. Wouldn't recommend staying here.

I recently stayed at Zostel Kochi for 4 days in a 4-bed mixed dorm, which I booked via MakeMyTrip. Overall, it was a decent experience with a mix of pros and cons. The Good: 1. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, which made the stay comfortable. Cleaning was done regularly, so hygiene was not an issue. 2. The location is quite nice, as it's within walking distance of some amazing cafes and popular tourist spots in Kochi. Perfect for exploring the area on foot. 3. Tons of cats around the property! If you're a cat lover, this place is nothing short of heaven. 4. One of the nights was absolutely amazing, with great music and a lively vibe. It was definitely the highlight of my stay. 5. Street side parking is there. It's zero traffic area. We can park our cars safely. The Not-So-Good: 1. The location, while central, is a bit tricky to find. A signboard on the main road would be really helpful to guide guests to the property. 2. The front desk staff was unhelpful and not very responsive, which was disappointing. Hospitality could definitely be improved. 3. The water cooler was broken for two consecutive days, and there was no water available on the first floor during that time. This was quite inconvenient. Overall, Zostel Kochi has its charm, especially for cat lovers and those looking for a clean, budget-friendly stay in a central location. However, the management could work on improving their service and addressing basic issues like water availability. I'd recommend it for short stays if you're okay with a few hiccups along the way.

This place is all hearts! Perfect spot whether you're up for chilling or hanging out with cool people. The hosts--Praveen, Joey, and Danny--are super chill, super helpful, and just great to have around. They're the kind of people who make sure you're comfortable and help you bond with other travelers. Yeah the washrooms aren't the best, but honestly, the vibe here more than makes up for it. The location is bang in the middle of Fort Kochi, so everything's just a short walk away. Oh, and the cats--tons of them, and they're the cutest! If you're in Fort Kochi, this is the place to stay. This would be your home away from home and certainly would make it hard for you to leave as it did for me.

Had an amazing experience staying at Zostel. It is located in the heart of Fort Kochi and is at a walking distance from all the cafes and touristy spots. The stay was super comfortable, and the atmosphere was amazing. A big shoutout to the staff, especially Praveen and Joe, who went above and beyond to make our visit memorable. Took us to some hidden gems in the city too. Will definitely visit again!

This place lacks basic hospitality. From the moment i stepped in, it stank and there was no one at the reception. Some people were lying around (don't know if they were staff or guests) but they seemed unresponsive and aloof. I could check in after 15-20 minutes of wait which is okay, but my very first impression of that place was very unwelcoming. Rooms are smaller than they look on in pictures. You can't practically 'live' there for days. Some guests were great, however, some were acted like they were living alone with little or no consideration for the other roommates ( arrived late, kept lights on late in the night, played loud music). Good for me, I only had to spend a night there. Do not recommend it unless it an absolute emergency. This was my first experience at Zostel, and it sucked.
