THE SUNSET BAY

The location is very good. Walkable distance from St Francis Church, Beach, Chinese Fishing nets, Princess street. Rooms are decent. However we didn't see any lifts in the hotel. Breakfast is okay.

Allan at the front desk was excellent. Very helpful with all of our questions. Breakfast was delicious, and the service from Verani was great. This was our first night in India, and we couldn't have picked a better location to stay at. Additionally, this hotel is well situated within Fort Kochi, and is a located a short walk to the Chinese Fishing Nets. In the room the air conditioning worked well (make sure you turn it on with the wall switch) and the room was clean and spacious. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed at The Sunset Bay for three nights and had a fantastic experience. The hotel's location is excellent, just a short walk to the Chinese fishing nets, Santa Cruz Cathedral Basilica, and plenty of nearby restaurants. Our room was quiet and comfortable for two. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the reception team was especially helpful. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Fort Kochi!

The rooms are cosy, although I wish the beds were a bit more firm than they were. The AC also wasn't working the best and some nights we felt like it was a bit warm. Allan at the front desk was super helpful though and the location of the hotel is great in Fort Kochi.. so value for money.

Visited in May 2025, two people: We stayed for two nights in Fort Kochi to explore the historic town. Most places such as the churches, Chinese Fishing Nets, Museums, etc are nearby in walking distance. To get to the Jewish quarter of the town, it is about a 15min tuktuk ride. Apart from the location, it is a nice a cosy place. The rooms are equipped with AC and a fan. Also the bathroom includes hot showers (I mention it since some people complained about the unavailability of hot showers, I think you just need to turn it on). For breakfast a Western and Indian option is served. Last but not least staff was very kind and attentive. Good and recommended place in Kochi!

Rooms are good enough if you are looking for a neat stay and wish to explore the neighborhood of Fort Kochi. All the major places are very accessible. The stay was very welcoming and good service was provided. Breakfast was also good and healthy. Overall, the experience was really good and it's worth staying.

Good property, with Good rooms which can be cleaner. The only issue we had is that we reached earlier than the checkin time and were made to wait for almost 5 hours. But apart from that a good affordable place.

Two notable downsides. The hotel had a lot of custom from tour groups who will reserve the whole breakfast area until around 9am. Unless a late breakfast or skipping it works for you then perhaps look for another hotel. The bathroom also smells like a sewer as the drain is installed incorrectly so you literally smell the toilet drainpipe.
