Mai House Heritage Hotel, Fort Kochi, Kerala, India

We had the most wonderful stay at Mai Heritage House. If you feel like going back in time, to a beautiful old historic house, then this is the perfect place to be...|The rooms and beds were extremely comfortable. Each room is decorated with beautiful old furniture. ||There's seven rooms of different styles & sizes in the Main House, in addition to two cottages, set in verdant gardens with a large fish pond.|Lots of small tables are set in the garden under umbrellas to enjoy its' beauty.|A large air conditioned dining room and a beautiful wraparound open air Veranda serves all-day coffee/snacks. However, the main Breakfast & Lunch is usually served here. The Veranda has interesting mementos & furniture from bygone days to investigate. |It feels more like you're a guest in someone's home than staying in an impersonal hotel. ||Without doubt, our stay was made more memorable by the exceptional service of Bala, one of the senior waiters. Incredibly fluent in English (in addition to several other Indian languages!). He was so kind to help us navigate our way around the Indian menu & understand local customs. The food was absolutely delicious.|Every member of staff from the cleaners, the gardeners, and staff cleaning away your dishes worked so hard and always with a lovely smile. ||Thank you Mai House! We'll be back!

Loved the stay! The place is a perfect blend of tradition and luxury, offering comfortable rooms and exceptional service. The friendly, well-mannered staff ensure a warm welcome; while the high-quality food and attentive service add to the experience. Just a couple of kilometres from the beach, it's an ideal escape to relax and recharge away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

We went there for lunch and the ambience is absolutely beautiful with lush greenery and natural pond full of beautiful fishes. Very aesthetically appealing and many good photo spots on the property. Would definitely recommend food here, everything we tried was delicious! Would recommend trying squid pepper fry- absolutely delicious!

Best part|1. Prime location walkable to KV dance show, beach, princess street and all main attractions|2. The rooms and property are warm and beautiful with a lush green park and a small pond in the middle with fishes.|3. The washroom is clean with all good biotique amenities.|Drawbacks|1. Mosquitoes are there but the staff is very helpful in putting up repellents|2. The room size is small but good enough for couples. You can opt for cottages for a private sitting area.|3. The breakfast buffet is very disappointing.

Went here for their food ! We needed a place to get away for some time within the city, and that's how we ended up here... The intention was to find a relaxing spot while we munched on something nice, and I'm happy with the choice made with this place.. The ambiance was too nice and calm with good food and drinks. Would visit again for the atmosphere..

Beautiful setting in a gorgeous garden. We had fantastic service and advice from Bala. I loved my Keralan fish cooked in a banana leaf and my husband really enjoyed his chicken masala. A very extensive menu and well stocked drink menu too. Staff friendly and knowledgeable.

I would've rated it 5 stars but we felt that when me and my husband arrived they instantly saw two guys travelling and thought it would be okay to put us in a tiny box room with dirty/stained sheets! Even though we had booked a deluxe king-size room. Admittedly, when questioned, they moved us into a bigger room, which we felt should've been our in the first place. ||In the room, I immediately saw a bug zapper racket and proceeded with my mosquito hunt. If I told you I zapped around 80 in 2 days, that's no estimate. ||Lay out of the hotel is beautiful. You can sit inside or outside when dining. We chose outside with plenty of bug spray on. As you sit out side you hear all the birds and water fall over the pond it's very beautiful. |The staff are lovely they even walk around throughout the evening, popping insense sticks/anti mosquito around the gardens we actually did not get bitten out side. ||Over all a nice stay but shame about the room mishaps and the amount of mosquitos in the room.

Very Bad Experience I have been a regular customer here and always enjoyed their food. However, my latest visit was a complete disaster. We ordered porotta and garlic pork, expecting the usual premium quality. But what we received was far from acceptable. The porotta, priced at 30 per piece, was stale and tasted awful. The garlic pork had a strange, off-putting smell and was clearly not fresh. When we raised our concern with the staff, instead of addressing the issue professionally, they outright denied any problem with the food. The waiter refused to taste it when requested and instead took the dish to the chef, who conveniently "approved" it as good. Just because other customers didn't complain doesn't mean the food was edible! To make matters worse, they charged us the full price despite us not being able to eat the meal. After some argument, they reluctantly offered to deduct the cost of two porottas--but only if we insisted. Is this how a premium restaurant treats loyal customers? This experience has completely ruined my trust in this place. Poor quality, and an arrogant attitude from the staff--definitely not worth the hype! I hope the management takes this feedback seriously before more customers walk away
