Cherai Lake Resort

We stumbled upon this place quietly located on the backwater just off the main Cherai Beach - Munambam Rd. There are 5 rooms overlooking the backwater and just across the Rd from the beach |The place is run by Bikaas who does a wonderful job. Our room overlooking the pool and the lake was excellent, good quality finish and spotlessly clean. |A substantial breakfast was included and there are a couple of good eating places nearby coffee, lunch and dinner. We even had the use of a couple of bikes to enjoy the locality. A welcome addition to our stay in this area

This is a really niice place to live. I stayed in a comfortable wooden bungalow with a huge panoramic window facing the backwaters. It is completely quiet and the white sandy beach of the Indian Ocean is only approx. a hundred meters away.

Disappointing Experience at Cherai Lake Resort Rating: 1/5 I recently had the misfortune of booking a stay at Cherai Lake Resort, and I must warn potential customers to exercise caution. The resort's online presence grossly misrepresents its actual state. Upon arrival, I was struck by the lack of ambiance and the overwhelming bad smell that permeates the property. The resort's plot is tiny, offering little to no space for recreation or relaxation. The management's poor service and unprofessional demeanor were further disappointments. Despite requesting a receipt for my booking and advance payment, none was provided. Moreover, the cancellation policy and associated charges were not disclosed at the time of booking. When I attempted to cancel my stay, the owner was uncooperative and unwilling to engage with me as a customer. This lack of transparency and accountability is alarming. In light of my experience, I strongly advise against booking a stay at Cherai Lake Resort. The resort's exaggerated claims and misleading online presence are, in my opinion, a clear case of false advertising. Travelers deserve honesty and transparency when choosing accommodations. Until Cherai Lake Resort addresses these significant issues, I would recommend exploring alternative options. Excellent Stay with a Scenic Ambience We, a group of three, had a wonderful stay at Cherai Lake Resort! This resort truly offers one of the best ambiences in Cherai, with its serene lakeside views and well-designed poolside rooms. The room we stayed in was impeccably maintained, thanks to the efforts of two fantastic hosts who ensured everything was in top condition. The service was outstanding, with the hosts being extremely attentive and friendly. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable, and the room service was prompt and efficient. The combination of a peaceful lakeside setting, neat maintenance, and great hospitality made this stay one of our best experiences. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a relaxing retreat in Cherai!

We had a family get together at Cherai Lake Resort a couple of days back. It was a wonderful experience. The location is fantastic, all 4 rooms facing the backwaters was fully stocked and maintained very well. The kids were in the well maintained pool throughout. Special acknowledgement to the well behaved, polite and cooperative staff. Those wanting to go to beach just need to cross the road and you are on the beach. Highly recommended for family and friends get together.

We stayed at this resort almost 8 months back and we had a good stay except that the hotels are a little away from the resort and you may have to walk a little far ( may not have cab/ auto service in that area always) to find good restaurants as they do not serve/ provide food there except the breakfast which we have to order the previous night because they have very limited options as it's locally prepared and cooked from a house nearby in the morning. You do not have plenty of options there. It is either Dosa/ idli/ idiappam and chutney/ curry and may be an omelette is the most your can get there, with a fruit juice which is mostly watermelon and then tea/ coffee. So if you are looking for a place with extensive food options or buffet, you wouldn't enjoy this place but if you are looking for an isolated waterfront property, private relaxing space without any crowd or disturbances, this place is perfect. We loved the place for the place itself. The Lake view in front and the privacy and the rooms were neat and hygienic. Surrounding areas were also clean and well kept. The Manager of the property was helpful too. I'm late to give this review but better late than never. 1 star less for the not informing about the food beforehand. We enjoyed our stay because our priority was a calm place with waters around and hygienic rooms and we got that. Thank you.

Pool view king room is very good. It is spacious and is arranged with necessary furniture along with an electronic locker. Bathroom is equipped with tub and it is very nice. Another room I had tried was a lake view double room wooden cottage. View to the lake is spectacular especially in morning. But room is a bit congested and it does not have even a wardrobe.
