One of the best holiday experience I ever had. It was a brief stay but I got to enjoy the magical space and the serene nature. Service there was exceptional and completely customised to our taste. The peace that you could enjoy being here is beyond words and truly magical. In the world of synthetic feeling hospitality, Chittoor Kottaram clearly stands out with its unique mark, authenticity and warmth. The history and stories add another dimension to the place. Highly recommend!

To say that the Chittoor Palace stay was exceptional would be an understatement! We cannot recommend this place enough. The property is stunning, private, peaceful and FULL of character and heritage. It was the ideal place for my husband and I to celebrate our anniversary and unwind. But what made the stay even more special was the service and care offered by Milton & team. They made sure we felt right at home and got a real taste of being royalties :)....they truly spoiled us with great hospitality, amazing food and so much warmth. We cannot wait to come back!!

We loved our stay at this marvelous old palace.||/ / HIGHS:|. Impressive renovation of the old palace|. Well-maintained with awesome antiques and art|. Old pond turned into a swimming pool|. Comfortable beds|. Nice Cutipol cutlery, copper glasses|. Lovely candle setting in the main garden for a birthday cake||/ / TO IMPROVE: |For a high-end property like this, I would expect:||. Cloth napkins for all meals (avoid cheap white thin paper napkins)||. Fresh flowers throughout the house||. Enhance the dining experience with flowers on the table and quality tablecloths||. A couple of beautiful photo books of India on tables. Hide those books guests cannot enjoy, now locked behind a glass.||. Relocate the boat, it obstructs the backwater view.||TIP: Ask property manager, Mr. Milton, to arrange a boat arrival, much nicer than by car. He will organize it for you at no extra cost, very easy for him. You'll love arriving by boat, seeing the staff from afar with beautiful umbrellas, a truly "royal" welcome.||Enjoy this solendid palace!

Phenomenal hotel! From the service to the location to the amenities to the food... WOW! It is a heritage building that has been restored by a foreigner and now converted into a boutique property. Could not fault one thing. The team at the place makes one stay truly special.

I've visited many palaces, and imagined the life of a king. At Chittoor Kottaram, I actually experienced the lifestyle of royalty. As soon as you arrive, you receive your garlanded welcome, meet the small team of staff, you get as close to the life of a Rajah and Rani as you could imagine. When you book, you have the whole property to yourself. The comfortable bedrooms, the spacious lounges, the verandahs, the balconies, the grounds and the plunge pool. No one else is there other than you and the attentive staff. Food is made using the freshest ingredients, from the most local markets. We felt cared for and pampered. Thoughtful touches were added for our anniversary celebration, such as the cake and special menu. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were always delicious. Thank you to Milton and the team, they run an exceptional service...literally fit for a king!

We found two dead rats in the room, rat hair on the sheets. Staff wouldn't move us Toilets had cockroaches and insects. Rude hotel staff. Smell in the administration area. Not hygienic, don't come to this hotel

If you visit Kochi, there is only one property you must book this is Chittoor Kotaram. ||This renovated palace once the residence of the Royal family of Kochi, currently managed by CGH Earth hotels group , is totally unique!|Hidden and confidential, quiet (rare in India), the setting by the laguna has so much charm, it is the perfect atmosphere for a couple's time together or a special event with your love ones. ||The architecture and interior decoration are amazing. The property is well maintained and safe.||We had the chance to stay 2 nights. As they accept only one booking at a time , you will experience the whole property without sharing with anyone else! A dedicated full team is at your disposal to make you tremendously enjoy your special time !||The food is homemade , so fresh , full of flavors and large quantities !||A unique swimming pool hidden in a small garden , a spa room for massages, a large terrace and verandas, nice front garden with amazing view of the laguna , a boat is there to take you cruising in the neighborhood and watch the locals life, fishing nets ... as we love to photograph there are lots of opportunities around . ||If you are looking for a special time or holiday, don't hesitate, your search is over, you have found Chittoor Kottaram!

Honestly our stay wasn't long enough. If I'd have known quite how incredible the experience at Chittoor was, I would've stayed longer. Genuine privilege to stay in such a beautiful palace with such history... and to have it to ourselves! The service is first class, Milton is a wonderful host and concierge in one, so kind and helpful, the food was delicious, really talented cook, and the rest of the staff couldn't do enough to help. Incredibly memorable experience, we felt thoroughly spoilt. Can't recommend enough.
