Bolgatty Palace and Island Resort

They also have an outside seating with an awesome backwaters view of Vembanad Lake. A limited menu with good juice options at reasonable pricing. Very friendly staff and pretty good service. This was our second time at Bolgatty Island Resort and this time we chose the Marina suit. The location and view from the room is excellent. But the overall experience at the resort was far beyond satisfactory, We went with an infant and a bit of a luggage and not a single staff helped with the doors or the luggage. The room was allotted quickly and once in the room, we found there were no towels. Had to call the housekeeping staff and they got it in 15 minutes. The chairs in the room were full of sand and dust and un-useable. Not sure what sort of cleaning goes on. Coming to the menu, there is very limited option available if you are not going for the buffet. The taste is average, but buffet is different, spread and taste-wise - Good! We asked for coffee at around 6:30pm at the restaurant and the staff asked us to et seated at the bar as they were getting the restaurant ready for dinner. We ordered only coffee(as there was no other snack available) and waited around 40 minutes, no sign. Our baby started getting cranky and asked the staff to deliver it to the room, to which he agreed. Half an hour later, still no sign of coffee. We had to cancel the order. Wish they improve their service since the location and ambience is pretty good and very well maintained.

Beautiful and peaceful place to stay in Kochi. Bolgatty Palace has a lovely heritage charm, and the island setting adds to the calm vibe. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The pool area is well-maintained and perfect for a relaxing swim. The food at the in-house restaurant was tasty with a good variety of options. A great place to unwind, enjoy nature, and soak in the backwater views.

This is an unbelievably beautiful location palace resort. You can check google map location to see that it's surrounded by water from both sides. It's like an island resort. We booked marina view rooms which are located in new building in the resort just in front of backwater sea. View from balcony of this room is very picturesque. There are big trees, well maintained greenary and gardens in the resort. Staff at the front desk and support staff are very cooperative. It's a KTDC (Kerala Tourism Development Corporation) run hotel and hence you can book it online on KTDC website at discounted rates. If this same property is run by any private holding then it's price may be atleast 5 times. Some reviews are misguiding. In my opinion, if you are nature lover and have interest in living old palace turned hotel resort which is well maintained. So just go for it straightay

Booked this resort expecting a peaceful evening near the sea and the prestigious mansion located there. But the place was venue for some engagement function. So there was heavy noise and crackers even till late night, people running around all over the place, dance troupe smoking in our sit out... The mansion and the courtyard was fully taken by them. We who paid a fairly good price had to lock room and sit inside the whole day.Food was just average. Overall not worth the price.

Restaurant - Too many Houseflies. Most of the food were open when we first entered, and houseflies were already taking their place on food. Staffs are not proactive and not friendly. They lack hospitality. Lack Safety and cleanliness - 5-6 street dogs were also in the hotel surroundings and inside the hotel as well. They were using the swimmingpool as well. We didnt use the pool after that disgusting view. Inspite of seeing the dogs, no staffs took any steps forward. Rooms - The rooms were not fresh. It has that closed dusty smell. Same ambience as opening an old palace room :). The bathroom accessories and furnitures are not maintained well. Very old furnitures. Bellboy and house keeping staffs served their service well.

Went to the restaurant. The food was good. Kerala style. The location the view is all good. It got more outdoor space with view where once the royals used to walk around. Do visit if you havnt been to the spot. Hav fun.
