Riverdale Villa Home Stay

We stayed one night at Riverdale Villa Homestay and were overwhelmed by the kindness of our hosts. Special thanks to Kevin and all the other members of his family. Kevin showed us around and even took us to a festival at a Hindu temple. The rooms are very clean and nicely decorated. The only drawback was the poor water pressure in the shower in the upstairs room. We had a wonderful candlelit dinner and would highly recommend this homestay!

Kevin and Sheena were incredible hosts. The home was inviting and had all the amenities you might need. Kevin arranged boat rides, auto's and massages for us. And Sheena fed us so well that I am still thinking of her food. She also taught us how to make fish curry (no surprise, absolutely delicious) and steamed fish. I wish my friends and I could have stayed longer, but hopefully we'll be back soon.

The best homestay experience ever for us. Right from booking to checkout everything was seamless. The location is remote just perfect for a detox. The food is local and amazing made with tons of love. The chef's (ladies of the family) do a fantastic job at tickling your taste buds. The hosts were amazing and nothing is a problem for them. Any requests made is accepted with a smile. Not to miss the neighbours who are equally warm and amazing to talk to. Will definitely return for a longer vacation this time.

The whole family were the best host you could ask for. The location is great overlooking the paddy fields and fish farm. Kerala meals they cooked were delicious. If anyone wants to experience the Kerala village life Riverdale Homestay is the perfect place to be at.

Riverdale Villa is stunning in terms of natural beauty and its rustic ambience. As you meander into bylanes of Kottayam to reach the end of the paddy fields and coconut trees with a river and backwaters to give you company you are submerged with love and intimacy of the hosts as you reach your large room beautifully decorated in ethnic style with a even larger bathroom with a open to sky shower. You couldn't have wanted more. The hosts as a family take care of you more you you are taken care of at home. Their smiles are infectious. Young Kelvin takes care of sightseeing and is an ace photographer himsrlf. Amma cooks the most wonderful dishes that would satiate your tastebuds fully..and her silent smile would make you ponder to visit her again. Such is the charm of the place. It's our last night at the Riverdale and I must say this has been so far the best experience when it comes to the hospitality. We have never met such thoughtful hosts before. Binoy and his family put in lot of love and effort to make our10 days stay at Riverdale memorable. ||The early mornings are beautiful here admist the lush green paddy fields along with a river stream flowing right next to the property. You can hear birds chirping and see the ducks swiming in the stream making the place so serene & enchanting. ||The rooms are clean with all the modern commodities with some traditional touches. ||The best were the well arranged, beautifully decorated & well lit dinners. ||We tried the most amazing authentic kerala food here, would recommend this place to everyone who wants to spend sometime close to the nature, good people and delicious homemade keralite delicacies.||Thanks to the most generous host Binoy and family for welcoming us with such warmth and love and making our stay comfortable and enjoyable., would love to come back.|| And a special thanks to our sweet little host and a wonderful photographer Kevin, you are a great kid.

We were here for a couple of days during our Kerala trip. A wonderful place with lovely hosts who make sure that you get authentic food. The rooms are beautiful. A must go to place for anyone coming to this part of Kerala. The hosts also recommended an offbeat backwaters tour and that was the most memorable part of our trip here.

We spent a week at Riverdale Villa, with Binoy and Sheena's family, and everything was absolutely perfect from the second they warmly welcomed us into their home ! ||The house is beautiful, clean, surrounded by paddy fields, in a small village. Stunning ! ||They took care of us like we were members of the family, spoiled us with kind attentions, delicious food (best food we've had in India !!), great activities like fishing by the house, sightseeing, cooking, or simply play cards together at night which was a lot of fun ! ||They can also arrange any other activities like ayurveda treatments and yoga. We did both, and it was really good ! ||Honestly, if you want to experience village life in beautiful Kerala, Riverdale Homestay is the place to go, without any hesitation !!! ||This family is the sweetest people you'll meet, they made us feel at home and made our stay here unforgettable. Big highlight of our trip to India ! ||We're continuing our trip with sweet memories and a big smile on our face. ||Thank you !!
