State Beach Boutique Resort & Spa

Our recent stay at State Beach Resort in Payyambalam was truly delightful. The resort's prime location offers breathtaking views of the Arabian Sea, providing a serene and picturesque backdrop for relaxation. The Victorian-style architecture and well-maintained premises added to the charm of our experience. ||A special mention goes to Akshaya at the reception. Her warm hospitality, attentiveness, and genuine care made us feel exceptionally welcomed. From the seamless check-in process to her insightful recommendations about local attractions, Akshaya's professionalism and friendly demeanor significantly enhanced our stay. She truly embodies the essence of excellent customer service. ||While the resort offers a tranquil environment perfect for unwinding, we did notice that the dining options, though delicious, were somewhat limited and on the pricier side. However, the overall ambiance and the comfort of the sea-facing rooms more than compensated for this.

The location of the hotel is good. However, all orher things are not up to the mark. Food is extremely over priced, service is slow and not good, room is not that clean and also the given amenities in the room are cheap. In breakfast, you will literally have to scratch the surface of the container if the item is over. They won't bother filling it. We ate lunch and dinner, which arrived after one hour of waiting and constantly asking them about it. We took extra water bottle and even though the MRP was Rs. 20, she charged ten rupees extra for that as well. Disappointing experience overall. The only thing nice about is the outdoor view and it's beachside location.

We checked in in the evening after a 12 hour drive. We were greeted courteously, checked in efficiently and taken to our room, the fabulous Kerala Suite; sea views on 2 sides , large balcony with tables and chairs, a delightful sleeping area complete with very comfortable bed, acres of wardrobe space, a lounge are with table chairs and a sofa that converts to a bed and a bathroom with walk in shower and rain shower. Everything was clean and in good condition. Some of the furniture honoured the artist community in Kunnar and was interesting and beautiful. The food was very good. Breakfast was a generous buffet of fruit, yoghurt, juice, cereals, boiled eggs and traditional Indian breakfast dishes. Delicious. Dinner was a more expansive affair if you wanted it to be. TOP TIP the Kerala Prawn Roast is listed as a starter but it makes a fabulous main course paired with,say, lemon rice. The best course in a4 week trip. The staff were all polite and very helpful and the location was spectacular. In all we loved staying here

Stayed at this resort on the long weekend of 1st May 2025 to 4th May 2025 for three nights. Other than the location, rest everything is either average or below average. The location is little on the height and you can just watch the sea below with a cup of tea in hand. Quite breezy too. When I got the room 112 (Deluxe sea facing ), the room was not cleaned properly. I asked them to clean again. The hot kettle was there but cups were missing. Later they placed the cups. Food is just average. On second day breakfast I asked for bread toast, the toaster failed and till the last day, toaster was missing. Breakfast spread is just average. For first two days, hot water was not coming to my room, I complained and one of the days, they provided hot water in a separate bucket. On the day of check-out it was solved. Restaurant service is also below par. The property once would have been maintained but now it is not in good shape . Lot of placed the wooden pavement is coming off. All in all not a great experience other than the location. There are better options available. 6k/night is not worth the spend.

I recently stayed at State Beach Resort and Spa, Kannur, and had a wonderful experience. The beachside location is absolutely beautiful, offering a relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. The resort itself is well-maintained, with comfortable rooms and great amenities. What truly made our stay special was the exceptional hospitality, especially from the front office staff. A special shout-out to Akshaya, who went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Her warm and professional approach made us feel truly welcomed and taken care of. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a beach getaway in Kannur. Will definitely visit again!

It an awesome beach resort. Though the resort is on a cliff and there's no beach access on this part of the town. But it's right beside the sea and having excellent sea view. They have many outstanding decorative installations. They have a gift shop which sells some extremely aesthetic items. Bit expensive though. Their restaurant is good, offers very delicious foods. Overall: very good resort to stay or even just to dine-in if you're staying somewhere else

A perfect place to stay... it's just sooooo enchanting! Sound of the waves all throughout is nothing less than natural therapy. Prime location, rooms are neat, service is good and the best experience was the Spa that I availed from the lady named "Tara".

It was my first time to book in this resort, with parents, the view was amazing on a clif to see the sun sit, staff were nice but have lack of work experience, rooms were beautiful to see it from outside or pictures, but all rooms needs a big time maintenance including toilet. Not as expected, some of the beds were so dirty along wit H the bed sheets. The atmosphere out side the room were nice but still needs a lot to be done. Restuant staff English is poor, and no many options for breakfast as 4 star hotel.
