I was in this facility for one day. The rooms were clear and neat, felt good vibe at first sight. The owner is friendly and good at communicating, moreover he suggests us the itinerary to roam around kannur. The homestay is well maintained and managed and also it is pocket friendly and suitable to all kinds of people

Not a value for money.. the bed in room number 3 was too small for 2 people.. it costed 1.2K The owner was very strict and rigid. he denied to show the room after i reached the property... I might have denied that room if i had not paid already.. it was tiny and suffocating a bit.. fan was slow.. By the way.. the property was extremely Clean.. the owner maintains the place in a very higenic way... property is very secured as CCTV cameras everywhere.. car parking can accommodate 2 cars.. hot water available.. Things to know... You have to pay 1500 rs as refundable security deposit. Mrng 10mins be a wait time to check the room and return the deposit amount..
Happy all have really understood and experienced the worst night mare staying at this place. Back in 2020 I stayed and gave my honest review here and i don't see it anymore. So I'm posting it again. This is one of the worst home stays in Kannur. The owner is the biggest crook. He treated us very badly. All other 5 star reviews posted here are fake and please don't go by them. I vacated the room in 4 hours due to the owner's harrasment and rude behaviour.
Very clean homely place. But make sure that you treat it like staying at your uncle's place. Which means you have to be a good girl/boy and be home by 10 in the night and do not make any noise. Very good place for those who love the peace and quite of a home.
Room are dirty nothing is upto the mark but biggest disappointment is the owner no way anyone can tolerate him, he will ask money for everything, time restriction, way of talking everything is so bad. Would never recommend anyone to book room in his place it's not even close to the market place not even a single good thing about this place plus the owner sucks.
This place was clean, but the owner is crazy. The man insisted on keeping our passports overnight, saying that if he didn't do so, we'd have to leave a RS1000 deposit. Because we didn't feel comfortable with either of the options (since this never happened in our months of Indian travels), we opposed them. He wouldn't let us put a word in, stating that it's "his policies". He also imposed a curfew, forcing us to come back to the guest house as fast as possible, even though all restaurants are far. Even worse, we wanted to change sheets for personnal reasons and he insisted on seeing them before, to see if my "wife" didn't "spoil". He interferes with anything you say, will go on a monologue over any slight disagreement and will do anything he can to control everything. Unbearable. On the positive side and as stated above, the place was really clean. The rooms were tidy, with little soaps and bathware. Overall it's not worth going there for the nice rooms, but if you do: beware of the owner.
Uncomfortable, full of hassles. The description in the website is misleading. The owner is an obsessively money minded person. Charges extra even for using a water heating kettle, or iron box in the room, the free wifi promised doesn't work at all, the TV is non functional too. Never ever use his taxi for airport pick up/drop or sight seeing as he charges extremely high and puts irrational conditions . He is an extremely interfering person and argues non stop if you disagree with him even slightly. He advertises his massages but again charges exorbitantly for it. Same for the breakfast, everything seems to be excluded from his advertised prices and costs extra. In our stay of nine days, noone came to clean the room or change the bedsheets. He takes the entire payment of everything in advance the moment you reach the place so that you are trapped and can't even change the place. An absolute nuisance, who will spoil your stay if you want a peaceful break from your everyday life. A red warning for all those who want a peaceful stay and value of their money. In all my long years of extensive travelling, had never seen a person so hell bent on not building a rapport and good impression on his customers but trying every bit to fleece them of their money in just one go.
Positive: I had the mission to attend a Theyyam, that was my reason to visit Kannur and I asked help from the owner and he helped me find one and sorted my driver for the morning. He even got up earlier so I can be let out of the locked home. Is a peaceful place, is very clean. And the wife made a very nice breakfast. The tuk tuk driver was nice and up for taking you places and showing you around, but of course it comes at a price.. Negative: It's a bit far of everything, hard to be independent unless you use the tuk tuk service the owner can arrange. There is a curfew so after 10pm you are locked in. I felt pressured to use his other services, constantly asking if I would get a massage. I got used to people trying to get money from travelers but this was even in the place where you would want peace. So it was a bit too much, when money was always the main motivation it becomes uncomfortable. Terrace is locked, but you can ask to access it. I had to ask for it because is shown as a facility and is in the pictures, I didn't want to eat my meals in the room, looking at walls..
