The Vyshakh

Excellent place to stay in Guruvayur. The staff are very well behaved and cooperative They are helpful. The food is good. Proximity to the temple is an added attraction. Only a bath towel is provided. They could provide a hand towel too. They could also provide a kettle and provision for making tea in the room

The only star attraction of this hotel is its proximity to the Guruvayur temple and availability of local transport. Rooms are average. The mattresses are good and AC functioned well. They lack standard items for the price we pay such as locker or hair dryer. The bathrooms get completely wet after a shower. The only saving grace was good staff.

Positive observations: Proximity to the temple. Polite attitude and gentle service. Neat restaurant and tasty food, albeit a bit expensive. Negative points: Cleanliness particularly of Bathroom needs improvement. Extra Cots and Beds that are dumped on the corridor of 3rd Floor hinder easy and free movements of the occupants. Dim corridor lights.

Staff were very friendly, cooperative , helpful. Rooms were nice. But the linens and towels are bad and probably unhygienic. They need changed . Needs sanitized after every use. The bathrooms are slippery and dangerous. Some measures need urgently to be taken it to be senior friendly. . For the rent some basic supplies could be provided. Restaurant is good. Proximity to temple is their best advantage which they can capitalize on. The owners wake up and act to make this precious location to become the most desirable.

Its nowhere close to the old Vyshakh we used to visit years back. The amount we paid is just for how close it is to temple. Rooms and washrooms were really dirty. Food was also bad. For the amount we paid there are other decent hotels around this place. Reception staffs were very helpful. Was not happy with anything else. Management needs to really consider a deep cleaning for the entire hotel.

We travelled with family, stayed for a night and had two rooms booked. Positive - 1) location / accessibility to the temple. The temple is just few 100m away and very easy access. This is one of the biggest positives of this hotel. Additionally other temples as very nearby- walkable distance. Also if traveling with family, this is perfect hotel / location. 2) Food - great restaurant and simple veg food. 3) Parking - travelling via car, this hotel had safe and good parking space. Negative - 1) The only negative is that Rooms are not sound proof- we had taken junior suite and the Noise from traffic outside can be easily heard, it was very disturbing if you want to take rest and have a little kid . The rooms are not very well kept. So felt it was a bit over priced for the room quality

Had a really bad experience during my recent stay.I booked 2 AC rooms, but they didn't even provide a kettle, let alone tea, coffee, or sugar sachets. The towels and linen were unclean, just as many other guests have mentioned. On top of that, we were charged an additional fee of Rs. 1500 for what was claimed to be a very small coconut oil stain on the bedsheet. The oil mark that allegedly caused the charge was tiny and not visible at all, and I find it hard to believe that such a small mark couldn't have been washed out. Not to mention the exorbitant charge they claimed it would cost to replace. They are clearly capitalizing on their proximity to the temple, as the hotel shares the compound with it. The service, cleanliness, and amenities were far below what I expected for the price.
