Palette - Periyar Resort

The rooms are very spacious. Food was very spicy on the first day and then later it was fixed for the other meals after we raised a concern. Not the most welcoming staffs..

Service and hospitality seems to be ignored since they have a running bar for the public. Rooms were clean and spacious.

No dinner... no breakfast ......ordinary rooms..... not advisable for family trips....ill mannered people at the reception..... easily ranks as the worst hotel visited.....

We had food from their restaurant. It was not good compared to their price. Chilly chicken and fried rice was not good. Price also high. But BDF and porotta was tasty.

The hotel is well located on the Kothamangalam-Idamalayar Road, on the bank of the Periyar river, very near to the Bhoothatankettu Dam. The hotel has facilities for outdoor events within its premises.

We went here for food only. Nice view of the water body. Excellent parking facility. Well maintained lawn for kids to play. But really disappointed with the food. I expected a lot more. The biriyani took more than 1 hour to serve. Taste was just average. Per plate costs 180 Rs.

If you want to loose ur temper u can visit this place. We visited this place with family on 30 Dec 22 hoping to have a good family get together at scenic place. Though the location and maintenance is good entrance after parking is through a Bar. Later on the staff at the reception and their behavior was a complete shock to the entire family members. The staff was compelling to have a chicken Biriyani and on questioning the same they made us wait for more than 15 min without even clearing the used plates and waste from the table. On asking about the same the staff argued with us and told us to leave the place if you don't like their behaviour. It is completely disheartening to see an excellent scenic place being wasted by arrogant staff at reception. Seeing previous comments it is sure the management is sleeping or is completely inefficient to run the place. Unless their is a major change in management I advice all to refrain from going to this place unless u want to test your patience. Location and resort is good. But the service is very bad. People who don't have any idea how to run a hotel sitting at the reception. Also you can see many locals coming to the bar, sharing the same car parking space etc. Not recommending to go with family if you are looking for a peaceful stay.
