The River Retreat - Heritage Ayurvedic Resort

Absolutely fabulous place. Property is large with plenty of parking and wheelchair accessible. Rooms are well kept, clean, spacious with lot of storage areas and has a safe, Mini fridge, kettle and TV. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is superb serving excellent food with generous portions and not very expensive. The location us extremely scenic and quiet. A very good place to unwind. They have Ayurvedic treatment too vouched by another guest. My thanks to the entire team and management. Only thing lacking was a common tip box. Please install that in the reception.

The resort is perfect for a getaway in Kerala! It is surrounded by lush green paddy fields, the beautiful bharatpuzha river and lots of places to visit, both of nature and culture enthusiasts. The resort is tastefully designed, with nice gardens, pool and restaurants. The ayurvedic services are also fantastic, must try. The rooms are spacious with comfortable beds and all the amenities. However, the bathroom was a bit old, with a few leaks here and there. We had a small balcony with amazing views of the paddy fields and the sunsets from here were amazing. I stayed at the resort for 3 nights and I highly recommend it.

The stay was good, the location is wonderful, with spectacular views of fields and the river. The resort is calm and quiet, with excellent location for unwinding, in the cafe, pool, or ayurveda massage. Location is also good, close to good eateries in the town. Overall very good stay for the budget

I recently had a short visit to this hidden gem of a resort, and it was an unforgettable experience. This resort offers breathtaking views and make you feel truly connected to the nature. One of the standout features of this resort is the serene river Bharathapuzha that gently flows nearby. The soothing sound of water adds an extra layer of tranquility to the atmosphere. It's the perfect spot to unwind, take a peaceful walk, or simply sit by the banks and enjoy the calmness. The staff at the resort were incredibly helpful,friendly, professional, and genuinely seemed to care about making our visit special. Overall, I highly recommend this resort to anyone seeking a peaceful getaway surrounded by natural beauty. The stunning river, welcoming staff, and serene atmosphere make it a perfect place to relax, recharge, and enjoy nature at its finest.

It is really a HOME away from home. Nice location - calm and peaceful. Although we friends, had a short stay, it was made a memorable one, by your staff team with their extended service and hospitality. Food and room amenities are excellent. Looking forward to visit again.

We had the best of times at this resort during a rogues' gtg. Wonderful memories. Beautiful location by the river bank. Excellent amenities and caring empathetic staff always at your serve with a smile. Housekeeping was perfect. Chef cooked up some delicious meal and we had a blast. Thank you Team Rivera.

Despite having a confirmed reservation, the hotel manager is refusing to honor the booking, claiming the amount paid is "too low" and demanding 3500. This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I made the booking in good faith through Cleartrip, received confirmation, and planned my travel accordingly. This last-minute denial has disrupted my travel plans, wasted my time, and caused unnecessary stress.

Actually not a great experience, we went to the restaurant part, the food was quite mediocre, I've tried much better butter chicken than this from elsewhere. And the hospitality is very very poor. There was some birthday party being organised,. I overheard the waiter/ some person of that restaurant being angry over the fact that we were there and hoping we'd go away soon before the party people come. A really bad experience from the restaurant, they should have reserved the seat, instead of treating the customer poorly as if we were some unwanted people sitting there for free. We were there because my father liked the shornur lake view, and wanted to have food from there, but ended up having a terrible experience. Tea shop experience would have been better than this! Thank you for the poor hospitality experience.
