Nice place to relax .Wake up in the morning to the chirping of the birds. Lot of open spaces. Understand there are 10 rooms.|Plenty of space for car parking.|Nice rooms with very clean linen.|Bathrooms were clean with basic necessities,|Complimentary breakfast was sumptuous with typical South Indian flavor.|Home grown fruit - zapota (chikoo) was generously served.|Overall a good experience.

I stayed here in June while traveling through Kerala with a friend. We found the homestay (the Indian term for a bed and breakfast) a charming alternative to staying in a hotel.||||The family has converted two bedrooms in their ancestral home to B&B rooms. The room we stayed in had magnificent high ceilings and was pleasantly decorated. It had its own bathroom, and was air conditioned. Meal times were a highlight of our stay. A member of the family (or members depending on who is around) join guests for their meals. The food was excellent and typical Kerala cuisine of the type that is perplexingly impossible to find in most hotels. Clean, lively, spicy vegetables, lentils, and rice cooked in a healthy way.||||The house itself is located with the backwaters on 3 sides. There was nothing more relaxing than sitting on the deeply shaded veranda, reading a book and listening to the rain. The hosts are happy to arrange excursions, with the use of their car (for which they charge a reasonable price). They arranged for an Ayurvedic massage at nearby Ayurvedic clinic. While definitely not a luxurious spa, it was a a relaxing diversion. There is a beach nearby, but given the rain we didn't have a chance to explore it.||||Overall we paid about Rs 9000 for our one-night stay. So this isn't really a place for a low-budget travelers. But we had a relaxing stay and thought it was worth it.||||One comment: the house is about two thirds of the way from Cochin to Allepy. It is in a side-street and quite difficult to find. It is a good idea to keep the hosts cell number with you. We had to phone several times to find the place.

Anthraper gardens located at the northern end of AS canal. This place is well known for its scenic and serene view. This place has an important role in the history of Malayalam movie industry. If you notice the movies of 80s and 90s the elegant history of this bungalow will be revealed. The view from here is awesome when this place is surrounded with violet flowers of water hyacinths.

A secluded location with backwaters all round delivers peace and tranquility at this truly welcoming homestay. The food is excellent and the hosts, Omana and Thomas, very special. Nice memories, hope to be back

Lengthy conversations and many laughs with our delightful hosts.Thomas has a storehouse of jokes and Omana is a repository of goodwill and cheer. Our lifelong memories will be of natural beauty and human fellowship. Given the flavors of the food and the aroma of frangipani amidst the surprising beauty of the bordering lake, we have memories that will last a lifetime. We hope to go back to Anthraper Gardens before long.

Perfect place to rest and relax. Well maintained property. Service is outstanding. The place is quiet facing the backwaters.

It is one of the most historical homestay that I've ever been. Its a very good and refreshing place surrounded with nature beauty.
