We had conducted a personal event, recently - an engagement, actually and the property owners took every chance to charge as much as possible. Post booking the place, they rushed into try and use their decorators for the event. Without even asking for any quote or stating and requirement, I was already given a quote of 1lac for decorations. Once I asked for other decorators to be allowed to see the place, they were not allowed into the property till the 18th Nov, when the event was for 30th Nov and in between, the decorators affiliated to the property was immediately allowed to take photos and send it across to me. During discussion, I requested for the use of the kitchen for which I was not mentioned of any charge but was told (over call) that in case of damages, Rs5000 would be charged, this, to put it in writing, I had messages on WhatsApp, and yet, . On the eve of the event, as I reached the place with family, the story changed and the charge of Rs.5000 is mandatory and hence I had no choice but to pay up since arrangements were already made with the caterers. While planning the decorations, we had asked if the property has fans (6) and an arrangement for taps for guests post lunch, and we were told that it would be arranged. Later, I got slapped a bill of Rs. 5000 odd for that too (I'm assuming they took the fans from their decorators I mentioned earlier), when the owners very well knew that I was using other decorators and they could source it if the property didn't have it. Also, while I booked the property, it has four rooms and the contract only allowed for 3. On questioning immediately, I was told it could be used (and I put it through on WhatsApp for which she never replied), I was told on the day I arrived with family that the arrangement is for 3 rooms. Why, when I booked the entire property? No answer! Every clarification will be made over call in our favour and nothing in writing and in the end, they added those charges on me! Only explanation given was that they are a 200 cr company and as a result, we do things right. Please note : I'm not making the WhatsApp chats public as it is on private account with the property owner. Total, an additional 8 grand is what they charged me for two days, over and above the room rent for this period. Below is a piece of review from another person which I agree with : It was nice to have a swimming pool attached but the pool is in need of refurbishment. The single access ladder is quite rickety and there are a lot of loose tiles on the pool surrounds. The wood flooring around the pool is also in need of repair or at least polishing / varnishing. ****** All in all, the place needs some re work and tidying up and one can assume why initially un billed charges are coming up in the final settlement and the kind of responses that are being put up for the property. Please note : if the owners on the property decide to have a conversation here publicly, I will disclose the screenshots from the chat as well for clarity. If you don't want to, id naturally assume you wanted to get as much at any cost, got it so not saying anything (proving my point)

A small property with four rooms and personalized service, we visited The Rain for a 2 day stay. Since we visited with the extended family and booked all four rooms, we had the whole place all to ourselves. The staff went all out to attend to all our needs here, all we need to do was ask. The chef on property kept crafting up meals which we thoroughly enjoyed. The food was amazing both in variety and taste, made just to our liking! The kids spent all the time in the well maintained infinity pool overlooking the lake. On the level above, they have an open air floor with a pool table, carrom table and an a table for folks to hang out at. The pool table could have been better maintained. When we wanted to take a river cruise on a houseboat, they allowed the houseboat to pick up and drop us right at the doorstep!

We had a wonderful stay by the lake, with hosts who were exceptionally welcoming and helpful. The property was impeccably clean, and we highly recommend it. However, while not necessarily a negative, I personally found the administrative reminders to leave an online review a bit persistent. While one reminder is appreciated, there was a point where I felt it was becoming overly insistent.

Small property with four rooms all twin occupancy. Personal care taken for best of support. Neat and quality cooking and services. Good for Pool side parties, a calm place. Four couples who join together can have fun and parties.

The hotel has a great location, a good pool considering the size of the property. The kids with us really did enjoy it. But when you are paying 500-550 usd in india for a day, you really expect a much much better maintained property. The wooden planks near the pool were old, one of it gave when my wife was walking. The walls in my bed room needed repair. |The most irritating part was they give you only 1 litre water per room and you need to 'buy' extra water! Found it amusing. Even during breakfast food was served but no water. Dinner was told for 7:15 pm. It was given closer to 8. Some items were missed. When you pay 50000 rupees you look at the small things. Expect much better. Suggest they hand over the property management to someone like AMA trails ( Taj ) as the property as a lot of potential. Could have easily given a 1 but not doing that but I hope they improve.

This was the last stage of our holiday in Kerala. It was quite late by the time we arrived as the drive from Munnar took more than 4 hours. However, the Manager and staff were on hand to greet us and show us around. They had also prepared dinner for us as per our selection.|The location of this villa is absolutely beautiful. You are directly on the "Back Waters" of Alleppy. |One can't ask for much more as far as location goes.|The villa itself is quite large with 4 bedrooms and a "common area" or lounge. The lounge leads on to the attached swimming pool. There is also a pool table on the first floor.|The rooms are a decent size, the beds and pillows are comfortable and the A.C. worked well.|It was disappointing to see that there was no facility for hot water in the washroom sink. For someone who has a traditional shave, this is unforgiveable. I am deducting 1 star for this item. There was also not a single wall handle fitted to assist senior citizens in the washroom.|The lounge area is nice but the design of the chairs is awful. Three of our group hurt their ankles and shins on these ridiculous chairs. They should be removed from there as soon as possible before they injure someone else. They are also too low for any senior citizen.|Not having a single HD channel on the TV was another downer especially as the cricket finals were on.|It was nice to have a swimming pool attached but the pool is in need of refurbishment. The single access ladder is quite rickety and there are a lot of loose tiles on the pool surrounds. The wood flooring around the pool is also in need of repair or at least polishing / varnishing.|The breakfast supplied by the host was good as was the service by the two helpers Sunil & Karan. The cook was also ready to oblige and all of them were friendly and helpful. |All said and done, we enjoyed our stay here.|

Amazing property, Breath taking view. Can't get over the serenity, the infinity pool is the mainstream. Hospitable staff and great food.

Great choice for a weekend getaway! The Rain is located at a calm inside route of Alappuzha with beautifully stretched backwaters as view from four of the property's bedrooms. They have a BBQ place, Swimming Pool, Mini Bar and Activities like kayaking and pooling. Indian Cuisine is served for breakfast and dinner upon request. Their service is fine but felt the property is little over- priced. Kindly be aware of getting tricked by the workers inside who will ask to pay extra for no reason.
