Tharavad Heritage

Had an amazing stay at Tharavad. This heritage hotel felt like stepping into my grandmother's house. The ambience is serene and the furniture and setting reeks with history. Even the service and breakfast tasted like home food. Madhu and Anthony took good care and were able to arrange tours, scooter rentals and taxis. Highly recommend staying here to explore Alappuzha.

Property- It is a heritage resort (100 year old property). Don't expect this to be a hotel as it is much better than that. It is like your grandma's house. Very few places like this old house gives that kinda feeling. Service - Mr. Madhu and Mr. Joseph treated us so well. I would give beyond 5 star for service. Madhu sir helped us arrange a bike and taxi. He was very helpful overall. Room- our room was very spacious and clean. Again we got the feeling of staying in our grandma's place. Food- we were served Appam for breakfast with kadala curry. Delishhh. Thank you grandma. One of the best stays I have experienced in India. It is a simple stay with great service and delicious breakfast. Highly recommend this place for your stay in Alleppey.

Madhu and Joseph Uncle took good care of our family during our two day stay at Alleppey. The home- made breakfast was really nice.

Beautiful traditional House. Rooms, service and breakfast are excellent. The host helped a lot arranging tour and scooter.

Fantastic home stay experience. The host was very welcoming and kind. The house was completely old style from architecture to furniture, it brought back great memories. Even though it was and old style house all the faculties were there ( good bathroom, mosquito net, internet ) and house was very very clean. The host took us to a private beach which was great, we had a very good time there and ate dinner there. Tea coffee and boost was given with biscuits. Overall we had a great time here and would 100% recommend it for a comfy and relaxing vacation stay in the area.

The behavior of the host Madhu is not good. Asked us to carry our luggage at the time of check in as well as check out. Offered the worst breakfast, appam with one bowl of veg soups for two.No mineral water was provided, there was only a common water pot with local packaged drum of 20 ltr. Charged rupees 600/- extra for 1 hr and 40 minutes late checkout. The host Madhu offered us to take dinner and lunch at Alleppey United Club in an unsuitable atmosphere in a bar and charged an excess amount for kerala meal in comparison to local restaurants. Be careful of this homestay. This homestay is not a heritage property just a simple drunk man's house. All the 5 rooms are the same, no classic no premium rooms are there and an awful sleeping experience with lots and lots of mosquitos.

We group of ladies, cousins and aunts, were on a trip to Alappuzha this week. Our accommodation was at Tharavad Heritage Resort, a charming old house boasting five bedrooms. The overall ambiance of the house was delightful, and it was well-maintained, allowing us the freedom to explore and enjoy the entire space. Alappuzha beach is just a short 1-kilometer walk from the resort. This proximity allowed us the convenience of enjoying the coastal beauty with a leisurely stroll However, our experience was not without its challenges. Firstly, we encountered an issue with the air conditioning in one of the rooms, and unfortunately, there was no power backup. The power outage occurred multiple times, leading to a less-than-pleasant experience for us. Additionally, during power outages, the water supply in the bathrooms was significantly reduced. It would be advisable for the resort to invest in a power backup system and ensure a consistent and ample water supply for the convenience of its guests. Despite these challenges, we still managed to have a good time and make the most of our stay.
