The Ocean Pearl, Udupi

Attended 2 function one a Wedding reception another an engagement in Ocean pearl. Was really disappointed with the quality of Service both in terms of staters availability and the quality of staff. Since it is one of the most sought after event locations in Udupi, earnestly urge that management immediately looks into this area and work on improving standards of food availability and quality of support staff

My friends and I (four adults and one child) arrived at Ocean Pearl in Udupi after a long 13-hour drive, and we were delighted by the accommodating and efficient front-desk staff who made check-in a breeze. We had reserved suite rooms, and we were thrilled to find them spacious with separate living and bedroom areas, along with a large, spotless bathroom. The room service was prompt, and the food was delightful. We enjoyed the cozy ambiance of their Jazz lounge bar, where the staff was polite and quick with our orders. The Sagar Ratna Veg restaurant offered a variety of delicious South Indian dishes. The hotel also featured a functional gym. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and tasty, with a live egg counter and dosa options from the Sagar Ratna menu. The hotel's convenient location near Manipal, with the renowned Krishna temple within walking distance and the beaches just a short 20-25 minutes drive away, was perfect. The excellent roads made our drive very comfortable. I would definitely choose to stay at Ocean Pearl again when visiting Mangalore or Udupi, and I highly recommend it for families, friends, or couples.

Clean rooms, good staff. Prices are reasonable for the quality on offer. Nice attached restaurant. We had the soup and Gobi Manchurian which was delicious. Just the place to rest after a hectic day trip.!!

Disappointing Experience at the Ocean Pearl, Udupi While the rooms at the Ocean Pearl, Udupi are clean and our overall stay was pleasant, the dinner experience we hosted here completely ruined any possibility of us returning. We hosted a private dinner for 27 guests at Ocean Pearl, Udupi, and the experience was extremely disappointing. Firstly, we were charged for 32 people without any explanation or prior notice -- a clear case of overbilling. More shockingly, the air conditioning at the venue was not functional, and the staff failed to inform us in advance. Our guests were visibly uncomfortable, sweating throughout the dinner and complaining -- it was incredibly embarrassing for us as hosts. When we brought this to the attention of the staff, including the so-called F&B head Mr. Prem, the response was appalling. His attitude was arrogant and dismissive, and there was absolutely no sense of responsibility or urgency to address the issue. The lack of basic hospitality and courtesy from the staff shows a complete disregard for customer satisfaction. The Ocean Pearl Udupi seriously needs to train their team and instill some professionalism -- especially in their senior staff. We expected a smooth, pleasant evening and were left frustrated and embarrassed instead. Would not recommend this venue for any private gatherings. This one poor experience has ensured we won't be returning, nor recommending it to anyone looking for a reliable venue for private events.

The front office staffs have no knowledge of anything and are completely confused. They cant even tell and quote rates properly. I wonder how the top management has appointed them. For a simple quote I had to make 20 calls. They gave quote multiple times and finally after so many calls they sent me a mail and similarly I sent to other person. Then suddenly some one calls that the quote is wrong and we have calculated wrongly. This when after 20 calls and finally sharing on mail. Very Bad. Top management should take up this matter seriously before some one like me suffers.

Rooms were very nice ... Had a very pleasant stay....Food in sagar Ratna was excellent.... Especially their paneer butter masala....Their Jade restaurant was also excellent..will definitely come back again... thank you for making it feel homely..

The service has become slow and disconnected at Sagar Ratna restaurant at Ocean Pearl Udupi. The Banquet staff who take the order are not aware of the delay in food service and we as customers are kept waiting. A simple request for mango juice took so long and I was wrong served pomegranate juice. The wada sambar took forever. Meanwhile we were billed for wada sambar that we never received and for mineral water that we never consumed. The owner and management need to take a very close look at the customer experience and feedback of customers.

We recently dined at Sagar Ratna, located within The Ocean Pearl, and were thoroughly impressed. The restaurant offers a wide array of tasty vegetarian dishes at very reasonable prices. The service was excellent, and the overall ambiance exuded a sense of luxury. A wonderful experience.
