Castle Homestay

We booked this hotel for a 2-night stay with our 1-year-old baby. The location is quite isolated, with no shops or amenities nearby. While the rooms offer basic facilities for the price, the kitchen setup is incomplete, lacking an induction stove, making it unusable. They don't provide complimentary water bottles or even sell them, which I would have been willing to pay for. So remember to buy enough water bottles from outside. They have RO filter but the water quality is very bad. There are no restaurants nearby, forcing us to rely on online food delivery services like Zomato or Swiggy, which was inconvenient and problematic. Sometimes the online delivery was also not available due to the far location. The beach is a 20-30 minute ride from the homestay, and the roads leading there are in terrible condition. The caretaker was rude and unhelpful, with no understanding of guest service. The owner doesn't stay on the property, and the caretaker's standard response to any query was, "I don't know, I'm new here." Without your own vehicle, navigating the area is extremely difficult. Even for basic needs, you have to walk at least a kilometer. The only thing they enforced strictly was the checkout time. Despite informing them that I needed an extra 30 minutes as it was my baby's feeding time, the room service staff kept pressuring us to leave. This behavior was unacceptable and ruined the experience further. There is no proper mobile network available inside the room and you have to step out of the room to make calls. I would never recommend this property, especially for families with infants, due to the lack of basic amenities, poor service, and inconvenient location. I hope the owner reads this review and works on improving their service.

Great place to stay, quite close to Udupi town and close to the main road as well. Very neat and well maintained rooms, big spacious bathrooms, awesome service to boot! Definitely recommended for a budget stay.

service is very good manager & staff fully supportive.. home stay is very clean & attractive.. especially staff person Ratnakar is most supportive.. he is available everytime. next time i will visit again ..

Homestay is very nice. Neat and clean room. Prashanth is very kind and great owner. Very accomodative, nice parking place. Budget friendly and near to malpe beach. Highly recommend to everyone.

The place is a bit out but surrounded by peace in the vicinity. They have ample parking space and it is not very difficult to locate it. For the price what is essential in the rooms are: - Stocked tea/coffee supplies - Basic room service - Sockets beside the bed - Pressure in the taps Rest, room was comfortable, spacious and clean.

The rooms were spacious and clean. If you've a rental bike this place would be ideal. It's near to both Malpe beach and the City. The person owning the homestay was very helpful in getting us an early morning Auto.

With heavy heart and big disappointed I am putting this review because our experience was has been very very horrible with the manager. Me being the Udupi localite and trusting the manager with the booking only with his words months ago. One week before the travelling I was told the place is booked already online and we will be given another place but he never bothered to receive the call or reply to any other message to help us out. I was told " we generally don't provide stays to localite". Well in that case they should never commit to anything. Their unprofessionalism turned what should have been a relaxing trip into a nightmare of confusion and frustration. I strongly advise anyone considering this agent to look elsewhere. Save yourself the headache and choose an agent who is communicative, trustworthy, and competent. This agent's abysmal service is a disservice to anyone unfortunate enough to engage their "services

Fantastic hotel with amazingly large spotlessly clean rooms! Staff very friendly and helpful. Comfy beds fantastic shower and a fridge and kettle. Wow!!
