Kolavara Heritage

We had a wonderful stay at Kolavara Heritage near Thirthahalli. The heritage home, set amidst a lush plantation, offers a peaceful and refreshing escape. The ambience was serene, and the hosts made us feel right at home. The food was excellent with a variety of local dishes to enjoy. We also explored nearby places like Hariharapura, Shakatapuram, and Sringeri--Kupalli is just a short drive away too. Highly recommended for anyone looking to unwind in nature.

A Delightful Stay at Kolavara Heritage We had an amazing experience yet again staying at Kolavara Heritage. Having visited this place 10 years ago, we were thrilled to see how well it has been maintained and how much it has improved in many ways. The property is immaculately maintained, with clean and comfortable rooms that perfectly balanced modern amenities with a homely charm. The lush garden area was a serene spot to enjoy morning coffee, and the fully-equipped kitchen added to the convenience. One of the highlights of our stay was the delicious homemade food. The cook introduced us to a variety of authentic local dishes, each one a true delight and a testament to the rich culinary heritage of the region. The location was another major plus--quiet, surrounded by greenery, and offering a sense of tranquility, yet just a short drive from the main town and key attractions. It served as the perfect base for exploring the area. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a blend of comfort, charm, and authentic local experiences.

Our stay at Kolavara Heritage was truly wonderful. The hosts were exceptional, making us feel right at home. We visited the place on the recommendation of a family friend, and I couldn't be more grateful for it! The place is nestled in the lush greens of our Malnad. The rooms were very comfortable and the whole property was clean and pristine. The food was divine - organic, freshly made, perfectly balanced spices, and leaves you wanting more. Kudos to the chef Devayya! The owners and the staff were so welcoming and accommodating. Mr Nischal helped us with the wine tasting, homemade by his mother. The bird's eye chili wine was something so unique, and we brought home some bottles as well.|We had such a lovely time as a family indulging in the indoor games and the beauty all around.|The early plantation walk was beautiful and was great to have insights into agriculture and learn about the cultivation and processing of areca. Mr Ganesh was kind and answered all our questions.|The recommendation from the staff about the surrounding sites to visit was perfect and helped us explore new places.|We cannot stop raving about it and are eager to be back.

One of the best home stay i can say, neatly maintained, clean and hygene rooms. Food quality is very good and it is homely. Nice place to stay with nature Had nice stay, can recommend to any without second thought... Overall wonderful stay

We stayed at Kolavara Heritage Homestay in Dec 2024 with our extended family of 36. Though the location is quite a distance from Bangalore and hence the journey a little longer than we would have liked, our 3-day stay was very pleasant. |Our room was very spacious, clean and came with a beautiful old-style "sit-out" and a huge bathroom. The beds were clean and comfortable.|The food at Kolavara was served in a large open dining space with varied selection of mostly simple, traditional local dishes, made home-style with less oil, so we could indulge guilt-free. Coffee and Tea were served early morning, during breakfast and in the evenings as well.|There was a guided 'nature walk' in the morning that some of us opted for, as well as (our personal) visits to Sringeri, Chibbala Gudda and Kuvempu's house.|The staff / service was friendly and helpful and ensured our stay was comfortable.|Overall, Kolavara Resort turned out to be a great destination for our family to relax, unwind and enjoy being in the midst of nature.

We had a very great time in kolavera heritage, it's really like heavenly feeling, great hospitality. There is no word for food it was so good.|Very well kept clean and practical rooms and toilets.......... by king of that empire, Mr Nischal sir, really v met a special men............

I must say this was one of the calmest stay I ever been to! Can't believe they have been running this homestay for more than 20years !The courtyard house is such a beauty! Elderly couple Kala ma'am & Narayana Murthy sir were such a warm hosts to be around! This property is nestled in lush green plantations which is away from all the hustle & bustle of city life! The rooms gives u perfect vintage viibes! Food was top notch! Got to savour many Malnad dishes & the non veg starters served at tea time were amazing! Food was very tasty indeed!All credits to the chef Devaiah! He has got gifted hands!! Ram singh if I am not wrong kept the guests engaged by explaining about the dishes served ! It is not like any other commercial stays ! The hosts pay lot of attention to showcase their vintage hospitality with us! Kala ma'am s wine tasting session was like a cherry on top kind of event!So overall this is a go-to place for someone who is looking for a peaceful getaway:)
