River View Farm Stay

It's a chill place next to the river ; the place has an amazing sunrise view

The pleace is very good, rooms were very clean and spacious , only thing is that you have to order food from swiggy or Zomato

Felt like home, beautiful scenery and wonderful people. Food was fantastic, reminded me of my mother's cooking! Met the owner and he was a nice and compassionate guy. Tried the coffee, plantation grown, one of the best tastes to ever enter my mouth, hundred percent would recommend, better than any place you've been, any food you've eaten and people you've met.

Date of journey: 1Aug 2018 Room no:1 Banglore to Shimoga Via Hiriyur - hosadurga route. We went on a three day vacation to the property. The Hiriyur route was just fantastic. Google was right all along. Once you take it once, wont take another route to Shimoga. River view farm stay: It's a very well maintained property. 5km from the city center. Apart from a few problems, or stay was pleasant. The Good: 1. The location: it's probably the best located home stay in shimoga. I would recommend it over any other hotels in shimoga. Planned directly at the backs of river Tunga, the rooms opens directly in front of the river, giving you an unique perspective. The fresh air, sunrise, a full moon night reflecting in the water, are just few experience that you get off you stay at this place. 2. The rooms. The AC rooms were perfectly maintained, neat and almost without a blemish. No foul smell, No dust, spotlesss bathrooms,such well maintained rooms are hard to find in even a 3 start hotel. 3. The Property is very well maintained. The Bad: The food. They don't serve lunch, that's a setback right there. After arriving at 2PM, we had to again drive back 5 kms to City, as no one provided home delivery there. Breakfast and dinner were provided. But No. Both the nights, dinner was cancelled stating the cook is not feeling well. Second day breakfast was also about to get cancelled. This is a HUGE SETBACK.. This is what took away 2 stars from this review. Why? Well because the breakfast was really tasty! We had to travel 5 km every night to the city center to eat average food. What a shame. Honestly, it's downtown irritating to be informed every night that the cook is not feeling well. VERDICT: By all means go. This is probably the best place to relax and enjoy in Shimoga. Just call and make sure their cook is fit and functional and working@ full capacity .

Lovely place situated on the banks of river Tunga. Beautiful view from the room, especially during sunrise. Breakfast provided was good. Staff were courteous. Clean and comfortable rooms with attached bathroom, led TV, wardrobe and other basic amenities.

The food and room was excellent!! Best in Shimoga! The owner was very interesting and made my visit personal! He treats all of his guests like family! He is an award winning farmer who plants coffee. Speaking of the coffee, that is also amazing here! I believe the pricing is very fair! The scenery is so surreal, it reminded me of the movie Jumanji! It's great to be out in such a beautiful location!

The place is right next to the river offering great views. However, it is a bit disconnected from the town and does not have a kitchen. We used to order food and the hotel owner used to get it delivered to our place. Be prepared to shell out steep delivery charges if hotel staff is not available. And the owner is a little anal with billing but you need to be patient and explain him the booking story

I was hoping to give it 5star, instead I am giving it 3. Reason is food. Earlier they said except lunch, breakfast & dinner will be served , along with snacks. But after coming here, they simply refused to provide us any..it wasn't free food we were asking .. I was determined to leave the very next day. See, the location is beautiful. Owner needs to understand that the more time customers stay within the compound, more money you can make. Now it's upto you wheather you want your customer happy or not. If you tell them to go & have from meal from the outside for each & every meal, where's the point to book this one? We could have stayed in the cite centre then. So three star only for the location..in addition, earlier over phone, he confirmed breakfast is 60/- per head & dinner would be accordingly.. we had to pay 135/- per head for Breakfast only.. Future customers, if you are looking for solitary & peace of mind, please think again booking this homestay. Because for everything you need to go to city centre. They won't help you with anything !!!
