This was our 2nd visit after 2 years that we first visited this place. We had given our friends great hope as last time it was the best experience as food lovers were shooting video about this property and there were many guests including the owners etc. So we kind of got the VIP treatment then. So we kind of wished that we atleast have a similar experience. So we along with friends planned a one night stay at this property. Even though it was not the same before but it was overall good experience. The food was amazing, my vegetarian friends had less choice for dinner though. But we enjoyed the place and their hospitality. The coffee tasting session was a disappointment, however when we brought it to the notice of Mr. Suraj the incharge there he made it up next day. Amazing plantation drive and breakfast on the next day, we had to bid farewell to the place. Spending time at a mini fall which is in the property was a plus and it's an amazing experience. It's a little expensive but worth it

Check in 14th July - Check out 16th July, 2 families (4 adults, 1 kid & 2 pet dogs), hill top cottages, Golden Wood, Harley Estate |Location - Surrounded by wilderness & greenery, silhouettes of mountain ranges visible in the horizon obscured by an unkept tree line; access to the location - steep hill cut steps to access the property post a 10 minute drive moderately comfortable from the managers bungalow. Not advisable for people with medical situation below the waist. |Location Rating - 7/10|Rooms - Damp & dingy, WC leaking in both rooms, promoters should realise the difference between rustic & bad maintenance, the room's skewed towards the latter|Room Rating - 2/10|Food - palatable & homely, though lacking in variety & spread |Food Rating - 7/10|Staff - caring & affectionate, perhaps cognisant of the fact that their smiling faces are the only solace to guests with otherwise limited resources @ their disposal |Staff Rating - 8/10|Value for money - we paid 58K ++( occupancy details shared above) inclusive of all meals, unlimited coffee, starters & snacks|Value For Money Rating - 2/10 |

It is a perfect place to just chill out and do nothing. The best thing we liked about this place was the waterfalls and the stream running between their estate. Mr Suraj arranged for a picnic to that spot by packing snacks and beer. The food was mouth-watering, a combination of Malnad cuisine and regular north indian and south indian dishes was a delectable experience. Loved their coffee body wash and shampoos. Being avid coffee lovers, we found the visit to the coffee lab very informative. We bought a couple of their coffee blends, they are amazing.||To sum it up - A cozy place nestled in the middle of a huge plantation, stream, waterfalls, yummy food and good coffee.

The place overall is good with rooms built amidst huge ~500/600 acres of coffee plantation running since the British era, and named so - Harley Estate. We booked hilltop antler room, it was the highest room among the others in there with a bit of hike. The room had a adjoining patio with capability of fire hearth in the centre to be used for cold days with a decent dining and sitting arrangements and adjoining grassy court for strolling. The manager and the staff were quite courteous and helpful. Food - homely and decent. Separated place around lake/waterfall had the capability of partying per need. Our room(Antler) had olden red cement finish on the floors, same in bathroom. The roof had external covering with tiles, and internally thatched. This internal layer needs urgent replacement/maintenance in both room and bathroom, it had black patches all over showing the spoilage. We easily sighted 2 hairy caterpillars crawling on roof and then 1 later on bed. Bed also needed prior cleaning. The hangers need replacement Also I was expecting some planned activity given the high price you end up paying for 1 day stay, there wasn't any.

Everything is exceptional about the stay at Golden Estate. The food that other reviews are talking about are true. Superb food. You feel you are in a jungle, its so dense and quiet and all you hear is birds. No phone signal in most parts, only nature to admire. Suraj the manager, showed us the various key sites at the property. Its almost surreal to see a coffee estate so large with its own water fall, 6 lakes and sunrise, sunset points. Meeting their coffee research head Mr. Prasanna was another big big highlight of the trip. He knows so much about coffee, its unbelievable. The coffee tasting session brought us a few notches up in our coffee appreciation. ||||Then there were the birds, thousands of them of dozens of varieties! Ok instead of singing songs about this experience let me tell very simply that we planned for a 3 day trip. carried our music, and books. And what happened? we heard zero songs, read zero pages! Soaked in the coffee jungle, the sound of the waterfall and the nature all around. can't wait to go back.

Extremely disappointing in most ways except the friendly staff they have. The so called Best Stay bungalow in the entire property, The Whispering woods lacks the basic amenities needed for guests to feel comfortable. They charge you as if they want to extract all the guests stay money from you itself. Complete waste of money and time. There is power cut most of the time, though their generator works, that's also on & off throughout. No value for money i would stay. Don't get deceived by the pics uploaded by them the way we were.

I was solo travelling from Mumbai to various parts of Karnataka, main motto being learning about the Coffee culture in Karnataka, the highest coffee producing state in India. Landed at Golden Estate, Sakhleshpur after doing a good research about the property. 850 acres of plantation in which both varieties of coffee i.e. Robusta & Arabica are grown, 15 naturally occurring waterfalls, 5 natural ponds and several different varieties of crops organically grown inside this plantation and guess what? The food served is all harvested from the plantation itself. I had one of the best time in my life here at Golden Estate, special thanks to Dr. Yogi and team for making sure it was a comfortable and pleasant stay. Surely will come back with my family or friends next time.

we recently stayed at this property on 26th Saturday for a day stay. we stayed at the farmers house (mud house). the service and hospitality is really bad. its not good for family stay. we had to request them for all the services. the farmers house is located in a remote end of the property. there are no network available at all . even to connect with the staff they should provide a landline facility at least. non of the staff is trained in hospitality nor from the service industry. food is average. we were served food in food carriers (boxes) not hot at all. for any request we make, the staff response was as though it was like a favor. the farmers house was a good stay, an experience of the old traditional stay . the coffee institute experience is good. they are no food varieties for you its fixed menu. over all bad experience
