Royal Orchid Metropole Mysore

This place has potential, but something, somewhere isn't clicking. We expected a Royal luxury experience... We got an old bygone outdated sort of feel. We stayed 2 nights here and then moved on to the neighboring Southern star hotel which gave us way better value for money, cleaner spacious rooms and overall more comfortable feel. Positives - Location - centrally located, walkable distance to lots of places. Big balconies , which were cleaner than the rooms, kids loved sitting out there, watching squirrels scurry up and about the gorgeous old mango trees. Calm and serene experience to sit and sip chai and chill. Staff- warm, friendly and very helpful. We had no issues at all with staff, each one of them from the front desk, doorman, to waiters and housekeeping were so polite and ready to serve. Negatives- The bathrooms fittings are old and outdated. Bathtub wasn't super clean as we would expect from this kind of place ( there was hair in it when we checked in ) Flooring is deplorable . Floorboards are loose at the edges and corners near the wall, and full of visible dirt, hairs and lint so disgusting, just don't look down at the room flooring -it's yikes. This place could definitely do with some meticulous maintenance to up its standards and give the Royal luxury vibe. Overall a nice place, they can do better.

The property is absolutely beautiful and located in the heart of the city, making it easily accessible. The rooms are clean, tidy, and well-maintained. While the food and service are average, the overall ambience more than makes up for it. The property has a serene charm, especially in the evenings when it's all lit up--perfect for a peaceful stroll or simply unwinding after a long day. I would definitely visit again just for the ambience and atmosphere.

The hotel was formerly a guest house for the Maharaja of Mysore and retains its old world charm. It is centrally located in the city, within walking distance to a number of tourist attractions. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable and there's a central courtyard where we enjoyed a number of meals. The staff are super attentive and friendly. Shivanna took care of us in the dining room every morning and made sure our breakfast was to our liking. I would definitely return.

We conducted a three day event in Royal Orchid Metroplole including the stay there. It was an excellent experience for me & my team. The lush green property where you can just pick sit in the balcony & forget the world behind you is amazing. I would like to extend a heartfelt thank to Rishi Ravindra (General Manager) & team (including all the staff of metropole ) who was always on their toes to fulfill each & every minute requirement. I stayed in Metropole for a few days and it was honestly one of my best hotel experiences. The vintage and culturally inspired design, the friendly and professional team, the absolutely delicious cuisine and the warmth filled environment. It was my first visit to India and I couldn't imagine a more perfect place to start and conclude my journey.||Thank you to the Metropole team for a truly memorable experience. Lovely character hotel, I loved the vibes. I had a room overlooking the garden area from my balcony. There is an older gentleman working at the hotel who is wonderful, always smiling and happy to help, please tip him well, he deserves it. Would recommend my friends and family stay here. The only complaint I have is that the wifi is a bit slow and doesn't work at times.

It is just a 1 night stay that i came with my family. Ms. Powsthina received us warmly and to my surprise upgraded my room from a Kings room to a Luxury heritage which indeed is the most happiest moment for me and my family. The room was very good and we had a comfy stay. The swimming pool was well maintained and we enjoyed the cool atmosphere. Definitely a must visit place if you come to Mysore. We will only come to this hotel next time.

Going back into time to enjoy old world hospitality . ||It was a very comfortable stay in this 100 plus years old property||The staff was attentive, courteous and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. Postina, Rani, Shivanna, Naresh, Kumar deserve a special call out ||Chef Prajth Soman kept a watchful eye on the buffet and was friendly and forthcoming with his recommendations. He made a special Mysore Masala Dosa, which was excellent||Suggestions for improvement: Bar needs a major face lift . Tables in Shikar the Restaurant need to be numbered and dedicated servers to be made accountable for order fulfilment on a timely basis||The lady playing Carnatic music on a saxophone was outstanding. Her talent was phenomenal ||The balcony in the room make a nice sit out area . Also the rooms were comfortable and spacious. ||Overall, a Great stay
