Mysore Bed and Breakfast

Thanks Steve - we really enjoyed yours & SB's hospitality so much and appreciated all the information you provide about all the Mysore sights.|The special dinners you put on were delicious and an excellent way to chat with other travellers.|Also appreciated the introduction to the deliciously moreish street food close by (which we returned to 3 times )|And one last thing, if anyone reading this is procrastinating about the bike tour - just do it. We loved it.

From the moment we walked into Mysore Bed and Breakfast we were given the warmest of welcomes by Steven. We wanted to stay somewhere which offered the opportunity to talk with other guests and to stay with a host who could offer advice on places to visit and how to get there. Mysore B&B did not not disappoint on either - in fact it delivered highly in both. We thoroughly enjoyed chatting with other guests in the communal living areas and Steven's knowledge of the area meant we received excellent advice on places to visit. His background knowledge of the history of the Mysore area also gave context to the places we visited. Each day began with an excellent home-cooked breakfast and tea coffee and filtered water were available for guests throughout the day. The B&B is situated in a quiet residential area but there are good local restaurants and an excellent selection of street food vendors just a short walk away. Steven also organised an excellent driver for the following three days of our southern India trip.

The beauty of staying in bed & breakfast place is to interact with new people and when the owner is an interesting man then you don't even need to know the next room person. Yah so this place is great for a comfortable & cozy home like stay. All rooms have been kept neat & tidy. All guests get clean towels and fresh bath soap bar ( Mysore sandalwood bar) Toilet & bathroom is shared between 2 rooms and the in house kitchen serves breakfast for the guests. There is one room full of books which is Refered as library with a comfortable couch so enjoy that if you can though there are books all around the house. The man of the house is a collector after all. The best is the house is full of love. Manjula & Stephen love can be felt in each & every corner of the house. I enjoyed my stay and I will definitely go back each time I am visiting Mysore. Remember 2 nights stay is a must. Oh yah if possible go for a cycling tour with Stephen.

Great experience in a typical Mysore house. Stephen is a wonderful host, very knowledgeable and full of interesting stories that he's happy to share. On my second day I already felt right at home, would definitely like to visit again. Going by cycle you see so much more and with Stephen sharing his insights and knowledge on historic and cultural aspects or religious rituals it was truly fascinating!

Stephen is a great host and makes you feel like his home is your home. It's a great place to base yourself for your time in Mysore. He helped ensure our stay in Mysore was a memorable one and he provided invaluable tips, info and history about the place and the surrounding area.

We had a perfect stay at the Mysore Bed & Breakfast. Great discussions with Stephen about India, about people, religions, social projects, and some much more.||Also had a great bicycle tour on the Island, discovering villages, history, landscape, at a cool pace, which is nice contrast with the noise and speed of life in the Indiamn cities. Really appreciated.||And loved our conversations!

Top-drawer hosting by Steve with expert advice made this an exceptional stay, stimulating yet relaxing after busy days. He also varies the suggestions according to each guest's interests .A rejuvenating and stimulating time. There is plenty of space to relax privately in lounge or the gardens outside but when I did chat to he other guests, we really enjoyed each others company. If there's a vacancy you're in luck .

It was a delight to stay in Stephen's house. We enjoyed his British/Yorkshire humor and his cozy home. We had good conversations and enjoyed the vast artwork he has collected. The stay offered us a unique perspective on India.
