Hotel Rio Meridian

This was a great deal if travelling to Mysore. The location is just perfect with all major attractions and railway stations within the reach of 2 km. They have a big property with a lot of rooms . The rooms are very spacious and very neat and clean. The room can add some decor to make it a little more vibrant. The staff is courteous and quick to respond to room services. The complimentary breakfast which is included in the price is good and they have a good spread. The restaurant on the ground floor is spacious and well maintained though a bit on the higher side cost wise. They have a swimming pool and spa. The stay here is very comfortable at a good affordable price.

Room was big, with standard furniture and TV. Most stars of the hotel is near and clean. Lift is very good. Breakfast was nice with good variety and prompt service by the staff. A la carte menu is decent, but can be improved. They were helpful in providing EV charging facility. Walls were dirty in some places in the room, could have been touched up. Fan was making much noise needed repairs. AC not working properly, remote also not fully functional. Commode seat was not cleaned properly. Some of the common access areas need to be repaired/upgraded and lighting needs to be improved.

The property is old and has not been maintained well. The swimming pool is only for name sake. It is a small pool outside the hotel building and no rules are followed. The breakfast was good. Seems over priced considering the amenities and maintenance.

We stayed in the Rio meridian on 14 and 15 March. Whilst the rooms are decent, the service leaves a lot to be desired for a hotel of that standard. We called the reception to help with resolving the TV remote, but no one turned up. The food is pretty basic and nothing to write home about. The room where we had our conference did not have sufficient air conditioning, we ended up getting roasted. All in all, a very average hotel. The only plus point is the location.

The location is good . Food was good but the service was Pathetic. We had tripple shared a room and had asked for an extra bed and extra towel. They did not give us inspite of 5 calls. Our bags were sealed at airport. So we asked them for scissors. They didn't give us inspite of repeated calls. So we had to go out and purchase scissors. I give zero stars for the room service. And will never recommend this hotel to anyone. Disappointed.

Worst experience by far. Roadside hotels must be better. Dirty everywhere. Whoever gave this hotel a 4 star hotel rating must be high on something. Don't take your families here, you will regret it a lot. Walls are dirty, sheets torn and patched up. Dirt everywhere. I saved a 1000 bucks not going to grand Mercure, made a blunder. Staff doesn't give a shit about nothing, managers are clueless. One employee of theirs was drunk, day time, on duty. Non smoking hotel, still the lobby of the floor was filled with cigarette smoke, employees again clueless what to say when complained. Morning 4:30 am they start making some noise like a catering business would on the roof I guess, you can't sleep with that shit going on. Don't go for false reviews here. Don't waste your money. The pictures posted by the owner are 8 years old as old as the hotel. Years of travel, this is my review ever, they forced me to write it. I wish I could get my money back and experience revised.

Felt pricey for the amenities and the room. Hotel looked old and would just give 3/5 for cleanliness. The breakfast buffet was not good - they won't serve water to table, staff doesn't care, no eggs in counter, Vada tasted like old batter, super hard poori. Paid 4.1K for 1 night which I felt is too high.

Property is looking good from outside. Don't expect inside of the room too much. 1. Rooms are big but no proper working of A/C. 2. Some bad smell in the rooms. 3. Geyser is not working properly, will not get proper hot water. I don't recommend this Hotel at all .
