Hotel Big Boss

Had been to this restaurant for team lunch. Food was good. Service was also good. Parking is available. This Restaurant is located at the heart of Manipal. We tried Chicken Tikka Biryani, Mutton Biryani, and Pudina Chicken and Lime soda.

Maintenance of the hotel is very pathetic, must avoid booking. What is agreed during booking will not be adhered. The facility doesn't have parking.

Worst rooms smelly, beds are sticky and dirty bedsheets and towels, no hot water facility, this hotel is not recommended for family, overall worst experience

800/day but rooms are horrible, beds not changed after use

I came to Udupi for an exam. So our friend's friend suggested to stay here and also it was near to my exam centre. To define the hotel in one word it's just okay. Firstly the ROOM, they levied 1500 for an AC room per day. We were like okay maybe it must be worth it. At first receptionist showed us the non AC room , it was very stinky. So we changed our plan to stay in that room. For non AC room it was 900 they charged. With much expectations we opened the door only to see the room was not as expected. AC was there but the room was not of 1500. Bathroom was okay but not worth for the price money. The bed needs to be changed as it not good for the body and also me and my family member got a slight injury in our foot with it. Also the room is not clean, atleast they should value the money we gave. It was just like a second class lodge. You might not see it in the picture I uploaded but it was filth. Secondly the RESTAURANT, we thought atleast this would be worth but no. Actually there are two restaurants. One is open for everyone and the other is private. It's not just a restaurant but also a bar. We went into the private as the other one was filled with drunkards. I went there with family and famiy friends. It does not have good ambience for family. Also private restaurant serves alcohol. We were disappointed in everything. There are no good lighting at all in the restaurant. We ordered chicken fried rice,naan and chicken kolapuri as dinner. Everything tatsed good but it was very pricey. The portion sizes of fried rice and chicken kolapuri was not it. Usually smaller restaurants serves good portion sizes with less money. Chicken kolapuri had just 4 small chicken pieces for 240. Now you'll understand how pricey it is. We are Indians and we have love for our tea. We travelled whole day in a train and we were tired. So to energize we asked for a tea and they said they don't serve tea here. It was surprising for everyone who travelled with me. They serve alcohol but not tea. Wow! Next thing is SAFETY. If you are a girl/woman travelling alone or wit your friends or family, just don't take this hotal as an option. I was with my family and I felt unsafe by seeing other people in the hotel who came to stay in and the drunkards in restaurant. Also the receptionist should learn English as he was speaking Kannada and we couldn't understand anything because we are from a different state having completely different language. So atleast keep someone who is proficient in languages so that it is easy for travellers to communicate. By looking from outside we had huge expectations about the hotel. But it's just like an old lodge. I think they renewed outside and kept inside just as same. Overall I would give 3 stars as it's just average. They should atleast give value for the money or they should improve their service. For men travelling alone or together this hotel is okay but for women I would say a big no. Dinner was very pricey so we went oustside to a normal restaurant.I shouldn't even rate a 3 star for the experience I had but I have to because we stayed there for a sleep.

Guys if you are planning any bachelor trips please do consider this hotel where you will get luxury rooms in affordable prices. The worst hotel management I've ever experienced. They ever raised their hands against us. I wouldn't ever recommend this place to anyone else because I don't want anyone else to have this shitty experience.

The receptionist should be changed to an educated one, the rooms are fine,but due to the attitude of the receptionist we never felt comfortable.
