The Mountain Shades

We had 2 days Madikeri sightseeing plan with family and booked the Mountain shades Resort. The resort is very beautiful and gives very nice feel of being amdist the nature. Service is very good. There is a small kids play zone. Very nice place to enjoy nature in leisure and spend some quality time with family.

Enjoyed stay at this place, we stayed there for 3 nights &2 days.resort staff was good and responsive ,food was also good,rooms were clean and cozy. Good ambience. Over all nice experience.

We booked a cottage for a 3-person stay, but upon arrival, we were informed that it wouldn't accommodate three people as it was too small. Instead, we were asked to pay an additional 1500 for a one-bedroom upgrade. This lack of transparency during the booking process is completely unacceptable. The upgraded room was far from satisfactory--both the bedroom and bathroom had a bad smell, and the blankets and bedsheets were in terrible condition. To make matters worse, the water heater didn't work, and we had to bathe in ice-cold water despite the freezing weather. The complimentary breakfast was another disappointment. While the food tasted decent, the plates provided were not clean, which was off-putting. Overall, this experience was highly unsatisfactory and far below expectations. Clear communication and better room maintenance are essential for improving customer satisfaction.

We stayed for a night last weekend. The room I had booked was slightly away from the reception. We are senior citizens so the hotel upgraded without charging us :) There were a few poor reviews about cleanliness so I had especially requested for clean bed linen. The management obliged and everything in our room was brand new - just out of the factory package. It didn't smell so nice :( We wanted to leave early but breakfast time is from 08:30. On our request breakfast was served at 07:30 :) Rats or some other rodents gnawing on wood on the roof. It was extremely noisy all thru the night :(

It was an amazing experience. They have a small trek trail inside resort which was amazing. And the restaurant was even more good, the food and the natural ambiance.

We stayed here for one night, the manager called us at around 1.30 in the night and told that our voice was going outside. We were not even outside in the balcony. We were talking with our friends over phone inside our rooms with all the doors and windows completely shut. My concern is if I cannot talk with my friend over phone even inside the room then it means any kind of sound can go outside and this is a serious concern of privacy. And also that after 12 they switched off all the lights in the area and only our private lights were available. Means that no one can walk outside after 12am.Please think twice before visiting this place. Cheap place without proper facilities

I went with my friends the resort is near from madikari bus stand we had great time tracking bonfire barbeque is nice I specially thanks to Mr qadeer who is incharge of property... Highly recommend

Privacy is a big concern . management come to your room to acknowledge that you were talking too loud at night inside your room when all the windows and doors are closed . They listen to all of your conversations and rooms are not sound insulated . Do not book this property if you want your privacy to be not invaded
