Once-in-a-Lifetime Experience at River Tern Jungle Lodge! If you're a nature lover or wildlife enthusiast, River Tern Jungle Lodge is the kind of place that will leave a lasting imprint on your heart. Nestled on the edge of the stunning Bhadra Reservoir, this lodge is where tranquility meets adventure. During our stay, we were fortunate enough to witness something incredibly rare--a baby black leopard roaming the jungle alongside its mother. Words can't quite capture the thrill of that moment; it felt like nature had let us in on one of her best-kept secrets. Seeing such elusive wildlife in its natural habitat was absolutely surreal. None of this would've been possible without the amazing team at the lodge. A heartfelt thank you to the staff, naturalists, and safari guides who were not only warm and welcoming, but also incredibly knowledgeable. Their deep passion for conservation and storytelling brought every part of the experience to life. From the peaceful lake views to the adrenaline of the jungle safari, every moment here was memorable. Can't recommend this place enough.

The River Tern Lodge is located beautifully on the back waters of the dam with stunning landscapes. In the package you get two safaris, 1 on the jeep and 1 on the boat. You will see immense bird life and other mammals. Spotting tiger and leopard can be difficult. The lodge is well maintained, staff very friendly and food is fresh, tasty Indian spread. If you take the bigger cottage be prepared for a bit of a walk. Definitely recommend going for some time in the wilderness, peace and quiet

Our experience at the River Tern logde was pleasant. The staff are courteous and service is excellent. The rooms are tad old and small makeover could do a lot good. Food served across all meals was very good, traditionally cooked and very tasty. The guides during safaris were very knowledgeable. Both boat and Jeep. Esp Mr. Abhinandan who knows the birds and animals, their movement patterns, was very helpful.

If you get a cottage over looking the back waters, you wake up to an amazing sight and end your day with the amazing sight too. The boat safari is an experience and don't expect a sighting in a jeep safari. But soak into the experience of the Bhadra Jungle. It's a beautiful forest one must visit.

Awesome location, super clean rooms, great support from staff. Great buffet spread. One boat and one jeep safari included. Ideally stay for couple of days, so that one day you can stay at the rooms, relax and enjoy the place without any safari. With safari the scheduled events are a bit hectic like in other JLRs.

This JLR property is one that I wanted to visit a long time ago, but time and tide made me wait for a long while. Typical JLR hospitality, knowledgeable guides and very helpful staff amplify the JLR experience at this property. You will see hundreds, if not thousands, of river terns in season, breeding and calling out their raucous calls as they nest on the river islands within the reservoir. And if you're lucky, you'll also spot otters, dolphins, chital, sambar, wild boar, and on occasion a lonely male leopard! Providence was pleased enough to give us a sight of this lovely feline for more than thirty minutes.

Absolutely lovely place. Cottages are right next to the lake with perfect view. Food is good, all staff is very helpful and friendly. You can go on boat or jeep safaris. Plenty of wildlife, especially birding. But also deer, gaurs, elephants, leopards, or slot bears. I highly recommend this jungle lodge.

This is a must-visit place! The staff is warm and welcoming, and the food spread is fantastic. We were lucky to spot the majestic leopard! The rooms offer breathtaking views, making it one of the best jungle lodges I've ever experienced.
