Suragi

We went in the month of April. Property is good , well maintained and clean. Can go to beach with a walk of 2 mins. It is very clean. The dinner and breakfast option was good. Owner is really cooperative meeting the expectations. We really enjoyed the stay.

I had been to Suragi, a home stay near Kumta beach to celebrate a peaceful new year 2025. It was better than what I expected. Firstly, location is very much closer to the beach. A 2 mins walk will take you to one of the peaceful beaches. Secondly, the owner is very cool. He was very friendly, entertaining to us during NY eve. He had planned so many things along with a fire camp in the beach for new year. Trust me its 100x better than celebrating in a crowded place or in a city. Thirdly, the rooms and food. Very cleanly maintained rooms with great vegetarian food. This place can be a perfect getaway from city chaos. Good for families, couples.

This was an amazing place to stay! Absolutely loved the homely and quiet environment. The hosts were lovely and made us feel welcome and at home. We had opted for food at the homestay, which was very reasonably priced and so tasty! (Probably the best vegetarian food in all of Kumta!) The location is easy to find and at a walkable distance from Kadle beach. We were able to walk around the beach and witness the beautiful sunrise and sunsets. We had visited towards end of November. Absolutely want to visit again! Typical traditional home with warm welcome! I would say that it is one of the best place to relax and chill for a couple of days and enjoy the scenic views around. Quite a home away from home!

I felt should post a review though I will not be able to visit the place. Had booked Suragi homestay (based on reference from a friend) for last week of Dec. But unfortunately due to personal emergency at home had to cancel the booking. I requested for cancellation, and the advance amount I had paid was promptly refunded within minutes. Will definitely visit the property later when we can.

We a group of 15 people stayed at Suragi recently. A must place to stay specially who love veg food. "Suragi" as the name says it's a beautiful home stay situated in Kumta. We opted it as it in middle we can travel Gokarna ,Honnavar and Murudeshwar. All these places are not much farther from Suragi it's just 30min travel. Coming to home stay well mentioned clean and calm place. There are almost 5rooms we got all. It was completely occupied by us. All rooms are cleanly maintained. Main reason to select Suragi was veg food. We were looking specially for veg food. In costal area it's very difficult to get pure veg homestays or resorts. Suragi is the best place for those who look for homely veg food. Coming back to Homestay after tired travel everyday we were served with hot tasty home food. Taste was very yummy, all types they served were unique in taste specially Sambar akki rotti and podi were most delicious. The cook was almost 50+ lady she was preparing authentic South Indian Havyak style food daily. Hats off to her energy at that age. Next point need not to miss is beach. During peak December season we got calm and clean private beach which was just 200m from home stay. Except us no one was there at beach, All of us enjoyed at beach as if it was our own. Last but not the least we have to mention about Mr Arvind the owner, he was very friendly and welcomed us and treated us like his own family. All 3days he was with us only , guiding us sharing his experiences and much more. We felt like we are at our friend or relative house. Thanks to Suragi team for giving us wonderful memories. Will definitely visit again.

About stay: A homestay that functions like a home. The place is beautiful. A lot of greenery and cute cats to pet. Food: Strictly vegetarian and amazing. Do try Tambuli. You can also request them to make whatever food you like. Beach: The beach is only a 5 min walk away. Kadle beach is truly amazing and very very clean. Please bring a bag with you if you plan on eating there. Don't litter the place. Things to do around: You can go to Gokarna for some different icon beaches, go to Yana or go to Honnavara for a beautiful boating experience. Local experience: Do visit some of the local snack places along with some of the oldest temples in Kumta. Mr. Aravind can educate you about the history, temples and local attractions of Kumta! A good place to stay here and visit places nearer to homestay. A very homely atmosphere, we all in total 15 members enjoyed the homestay without any hassales. Food and water is good. We have 6 kids in trip. Homestay has provided food the taste of kids. Homestay surrounded by greenery... we enjoyed a lot by vising Beach as well. Owner is Co operative in providing basic amenities. A beautiful place for vegetarians....
