Sterling Karwar

Hotel is very easily accessible, right on the highway. There is backwaters of Arabian sea right behind the property and view from the seaside rooms is beautiful. Food is tasty and good quality. Rooms and restaurant are clean and very hygienic. Buffet spread for both breakfast and dinner are good. We got a seaside room on the highway side. The only downside to our whole experience was noise and lights from passing vehicles on the highway. Maybe management could look into what can be done to enhance guest experience in these rooms. Little thicker glass windows and better curtains could solve this problem for the highway side rooms. Overall the stay was very good and would recommend it to everyone.

We booked sea view privilege suit with balcony. The room was good but AC wasn't cooling the room enough. On sofa only 1 person can sleep but bed is quite big and comfy. There was little delay in room service at times. Pool is good and so is the food. Had a good stay.

We recently visited this property for 2 nights. Overall it's very clean and services are immediate. We'll come back again during rainy season. The highlight of the properties are 1. Normal rooms on the higher floor either with mountain views or with sea views. 2. There is a backdoor which leads to a sunset point where the river and sea are merging. During early morning and evening it's paradise. 3. Rooms are clean and services are immediate. The breakfast food needs to be improved for taste and more non veg options. 4. Local transport is very good and people as well. Very welcoming. Karwar circle has really good local cuisine and the Sunday market is a unique experience.

This was good experience Location is awesome, exactly on the highway makes is very convenient to explore Karwar and South Goa. Breakfast service is good, spread could be better. Ranya n Jaya were very helpful throughout the 3-4 of our stay They have backside exit to small beach but approach to it is not maintained at all..n activities within the hotel are not maintained at all.. This place has all facilities of 4-star however lacks the luxury n consistency of 4-star hotel(for e.g. Coffee ordered in Room service was abysmal, however coffee in breakfast service was amazing)

The stay was lovely. Loved the breakfast which was included.The guestroom was clean.The staff is friendly and helpful especially Jaya,Raniya,Latika.All in all had a good stay.Thanks to management and staff for everything. We are eager to come here again.

Got a room with a good view and that was the end of the good part. Staff very casual, a wedding was to take place so the welcome gate for it was erected just behind our parked car, it wasn't possible to take the car out. After making noise staff came and helped in taking our car out. Housekeeping took 7 HOURS to clean our room on the day we went out telling reception to get the room cleaned..... The property was totally run down when v last visited in 2021, now renovation has been done but only cosmetic!! Avoid if you have options.

During the Christmas break of 2024, we made a short trip to Karwar...we selected Sterling Karwar - basically as there are not too many good hotels in Karwar...plus there were positive reviews on TripAdvisor. Here is my take after our stay...||Booking: We did the booking directly via the hotel with an advance payment - and the process was smooth.||First Impression: We reached the hotel late in the evening, after a long drive - we were following the route as per Google Maps, and it showed us that the hotel is on the opposite side. We were honestly shocked to see the building...no lights, no name board, nothing to show that it was a Sterling property. In fact, we were doubtful if Google had the correct location, so we stopped at the side and called the hotel...they confirmed that it was the correct building. We were happy to know that there was parking facility in the premises. Check-in was smooth, we had to pay the balance upfront. ||Rooms: We were told that our room was in the new building. So we walked to the new block with the staff...that was our second shock - the room. It was a complete contrast to the pictures we'd seen on the website...completely stark and bare! All white with no decor at all...no personality. To top it all, the AC was not functioning well. So we called the reception to have it checked...the technician said, it would take a few minutes for the cooling to take place. We waited for almost 30 minutes and then called the reception again. The technician again gave some excuse...so we asked for a room change to the old block.|We had to wait for almost an hour before we were allotted an alternate room! The second room was much better, and the AC was functioning too!||Food: The menu was limited...but the food was decent.||Activities: We used the indoor games area...TT, foosball, etc. ||Service: The service experience was okay - but during checkout, there was an issue with the billing...even though we had paid upfront on check-in, their system didn't reflect it. Luckily, we were able to locate our bank's message and they agreed.||Positives: The staff (they do try their best)||Improvements: The upkeep of the rooms, outer facade / appearance||Moral of the Story: Think twice! Do ensure a complete back-check of the room before booking - ask for recent pictures, perhaps?

Excellent stay! The hotel's cleanliness, service, and amenities exceeded expectations. Comfortable room, delicious breakfast, and friendly staff made my stay memorable. Highly recommend!
