Stag Life Homestay

Our recent stay at Stag Life Homestay was, unfortunately, far from the positive experience we had hoped for after reading Google reviews. First, there was no option for early check-in, even though the rooms were visibly empty. We understand that it was partially our mistake for not informing them a day in advance, but given that Chikmagalur was new territory for us, and we reached much earlier than expected, we had hoped for a little flexibility -- especially since we had girls in our group. Despite requesting politely, we were outright refused. Worse, the person answering the provided number spoke rudely, making us feel extremely unwelcome. We requested at least to be let inside the property to use the common fresh rooms, but the way they responded made it seem like they would be doing us a huge favor, rather than simply accommodating tired guests. Things only went downhill from there. Day 1: We were made to wait for check-in; no breakfast was available because, apparently, unless you telepathically pre-order meals in advance, you are expected to manage on your own. No lunch was arranged either, again with zero communication or options offered. Wi-Fi didn't work at all, despite being advertised. When we asked for any kind of help, the staff seemed completely clueless and unable to assist with basic queries. The swimming pool, though a nice addition, was overloaded with chlorine, making it uncomfortable after just a few minutes. The worst part was realizing that other groups (probably those who had contacts or knew the owners) were being properly served food and assisted, while we were left feeling like second-class guests. It was clear that service quality depended heavily on personal familiarity rather than being fair to all paying guests. Ultimately, we were so fed up with the experience that we cut our trip short, kept our bags inside our cab, and booked another room near the bus station just to freshen up and salvage the day. In conclusion: While the property itself has potential -- nice rooms and a pleasant location -- the lack of basic hospitality, poor communication, and disrespectful behavior ruined our experience. Google reviews seem highly misleading in this case. I would not recommend this place unless you personally know the management. Otherwise, be prepared for mismanagement, indifference, and a complete lack of basic service.

We stayed here for 2 nights with a group of around 37 family members, and the experience was truly wonderful. The homestay owner, Harish, is a genuinely kind and helpful person who was always available to assist us. He served us delicious food throughout our stay, and we really appreciated how clean and hygienic the place was. Highly recommended!

Stag life Homestay is a wonderful property with exceptional Location surrounded by greenery. The Cleanliness of the property is well-maintained and hygienic. The Food & Dining is outstanding. The Staff is friendly and responsive to the guests' needs. Overall, stag life Homestay is an extraordinary place to stay and highly recommended for a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

Nice place to stay with family in chikmagalur. Hari is very helpful and arranges any requirement pretty fast. Food options are limited. Rooms are well maintained, clean and with good views. Swimming pool also well maintained.
