The Ashhok Hassan

The best hotel rooms in the city, hands down. The rooms are luxurious, and the surroundings are beautifully maintained with lush gardens, a large pool, and ample parking space. While it may not match up to 4-star hotels in bigger cities, it's definitely the best the city has to offer within its limits. One of the standout features is the buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Most of the time, the food is great, though there are occasional 'just okay' moments. The hotel also boasts a spacious poolside party area that's perfect for events, along with a decently equipped gym and relaxing spa services to enhance your stay. If your budget allows for a premium, luxurious experience, this is the top choice in the city.

The worst hotel experience around. This place is dirty, falling apart, the pool is green and filthy. I went to the gym and it has no power. It really does look like nobody ever takes care of this place. The gym is huge but filthy and I think it's abandoned since there is no power. The staff stands around and their biggest contribution is asking for your room number, once, twice, three times. Most of them clearly do not want to be here and who blames them, neither do I. I have been to many old hotels but that does not mean it is has to be dirty, staff rude and/or uninterested. I am really the easiest guest to please. Avoid at all cost.

We were in Hassan with our family at the end of December 2024 and stayed at Hotel Ashhok. |This is an excellent hotel. The rooms are large and clean and the service is perfect. In the evening you can have a small snack in the lounge next to the restaurant. |The staff were extremely friendly and service-orientated. |I can only recommend the Hotel Ashhok.

I have stayed in many old hotels and that is ok but this one is neglected and absolutely filthy. The service is non existent and staff is rude and unfriendly.||Avoid this place at all cost. This is physically a two star hotel but in truth it is a no star hotel. As a side note, I am the easiest person to please.

What stands out is the warmth and Honesty of the staff. Bhumika and Keerthana at front office deserve special mention. I left my wireless earphones in my room by mistake and my call to them resulted in them promptly finding it and couriering within half hour. Amazing customer focus. Kudos to the Honesty of the staff - housekeeping and front office. Thank you for such a pleasant visit.

It was very refreshing to stay in this place. We stayed there from 28-12 to 29-12 in Room 1102. Front desk managed by Keerthana was so helpful. If I have to visit Hassan again, I will stay in this nicely maintained property.

Please do not think of having food here, one of the worst restaurant in Hassan, running it in maybe the old goodwill. We ordered food, we couldn't even have a bite of anything, had to send back the food. Service wise also its was not a good experience.. Had to ask for water multiple times, they served when we got the food. Ashoka used to be one of the best hotels in Hassan, sad to see the standards going down like this. I hope the management takes this seriously

The hotel is okay, very mid but the staff is what makes the place exceptional. Right from the lady receptionist who's so wonderful and made our stay here effortless to room service, everyone's incredibly kind. We also tried their food, we had chilli garlic fried rice and chilli paneer, it was regular fried rice with very oily paneer but the portion size was good and seemed fresh. Where they fall short is their complimentary High Tea. The coffee was awful, the server couldn't understand "extra strong coffee", mine was ultra milky and serving 2 oily chilli pakoras with it is definitely not high tea, kinda wish they wouldn't have offered it at all. Apart from this, the overall experience was pretty good. Definitely stay here when in Hassan.
