Moustache Srinagar

If you are looking to stay away from the crowded spots in srinagar then this is the place to be. It will be nicer if you have your own vehicle- otherwise you can also use local autos( which are difficult to find). Rooms were very clean and the food was outstanding. Home cooked aloo parathas were amazing.

I loved this place. Quiet and cozy and jam packed with travellers. The hot water timing is 7pm to 10:00am - this worked for us. Most importantly, the room! It was clean - sheets, blankets, pillows, mugs, kettle, and washroom. Food was good too. You have to inform them way ahead of time for what you want to have. For example, give instructions for breakfast the night before; and for dinner before 6 pm. But they serve you warm food and taste is decent too. They had electric mattresses that you can keep on for longer times during night and it keeps you warm till morning. Staff was friendly too. Great service. One thing to keep in mind that the location is in the inner parts of Srinagar, and is an uphill ride. So if you are travelling with tempo traveller, you might have to walk there. And if there is snowfall, again, you might have to walk, even if you hired a cab (the cab driver will deny to come uphill during snowfall). Overall, good experience.

Stayed here for a couple of days while in Srinagar. The location is close to Dal and accessible to other points of interest. The rooms were very clean and well kept. The food provided was really homely and the staff are really friendly and helpful, ready to assist the guests. Will definitely recommend this place to everyone who wants a comfortable stay option in srinagar.

It felt more like a homestay than a hostel and may not be suitable for solo travelers. The property is located in a remote area, making access to amenities difficult. Food options are limited, so it's best to avoid the breakfast-inclusive option, as the quality and quantity don't justify the cost. They have obtained a franchise from Moustache and are running it on their property. Additionally, they charge an extra 600 for a heater, which I haven't encountered anywhere else in Kashmir!

The best and most trustworthy hostel in Brein Village, Srinagar, located conveniently near the serene Nishat Gardens. The hostel offers luxurious rooms and dormitories, providing a perfect blend of comfort and affordability. The staff and owner are exceptionally helpful and friendly, ensuring a warm and welcoming stay. This hostel is a gateway to authentic Kashmiri traditions and hospitality, allowing you to connect with the culture and people. Although it is situated slightly away from the city center (about 8-10 km), its proximity to Nishat Garden and the tranquil banks of Dal Lake makes it an ideal spot for a peaceful retreat. Highly recommended for travelers seeking a unique and comfortable experience in Srinagar!

We had a lovely time at Srinagar. Thanks to Mr Altaf , he arranged everything for us from the taxi for the entire trip to the gondola tickets which were next to impossible to book since our was an impromptu plan.. if you want to experience the best of Kashmir he's the person

It's more of a quest House than o hostel. Owners will be likely to rip you off and charge more than it is on booking sites. If you book a stay with breakfast for additional 300rp you will get a breakfast of a value of 130-150 and the breakfast is fixed, so it's better to order ala carte. You pay half of the price and get what you want.

Moustache is a cozy, homely, clean homestay located at a peaceful area, away from the hustle bustle of Dal Lake. It's calm and gives you an experience of Kashmir in a sweet, homely way. Altaf, the owner, his sister-in-law and Aadil, ensure warm hospitality. Rooms are clean, hot water is available and food is made only as per availability of vegetables and meat. They don't have toiletries, so carry on your own. Overall, a decent stay. Recommended if you're looking to stay away from the business of Srinagar.
