Review of Karnai Resort: A Disappointing Experience Our recent stay at Karnai Resort turned out to be a series of disappointments, starting right from the booking process on Agoda. Initially, the listing misled us into believing that we would have the entire property to ourselves. However, upon arrival, it became evident that this was not the case. Instead, we were provided with only one room while the rest of the property was occupied by other guests. Sharing a bathroom with three other individuals due to the lack of separate facilities was not what we had signed up for. Moreover, our stay was plagued by frequent power cuts and an unreliable supply of hot water. These issues significantly impacted our comfort and overall experience during our time at the resort. Additionally, the parking situation was incredibly tight, with only one space available for guests. This made maneuvering in and out of the premises quite inconvenient, especially considering the limited parking options nearby. To add to our dismay, on the second day of our stay, we received a call from the owner, informing us that late-night roaming was not permitted and that we were expected to return to the resort by 10:00 PM. This came as a surprise to us, as we were never informed of any such rules or timings prior to our arrival. Despite explaining our inability to comply with this requirement, the owner insisted on the necessity of adhering to their unspecified regulations. Upon returning to the resort later that night, we found ourselves locked out, despite repeated attempts to contact the owner. It was only after multiple calls and a considerable delay in the cold weather that we were finally let in. Overall, our experience at Karnai Resort was far from satisfactory. The lack of transparency regarding amenities, the inconvenience of shared facilities, and the arbitrary imposition of rules made our stay unpleasant and regrettable. This experience undoubtedly tarnished our impression of Srinagar and left us feeling disillusioned with our choice of accommodation. I strongly advise against booking a stay at Karnai Resort. The misleading information provided during the booking process, coupled with the lack of transparency regarding facilities and rules, made our experience highly disappointing. From shared bathrooms and frequent power cuts to arbitrary curfews and difficulty in reaching the owner, these factors collectively contributed to a regrettable and unpleasant stay. Considering the abundance of accommodation options available in Srinagar, there are certainly better alternatives to consider for a more enjoyable and hassle-free experience. TLDR: Karnai Resort's misleading booking information, shared facilities, frequent power cuts, arbitrary curfews, and difficulty in contacting the owner make it an unsuitable choice for accommodation in Srinagar. Avoid booking here for a more enjoyable stay elsewhere.
