Pacific Hotel, Srinagar - A Stay with Mixed Experiences We recently stayed at Pacific Hotel, Srinagar, and while the property has potential and the team was responsive in certain areas, our overall experience was somewhat disappointing due to a few critical aspects. Areas of Concern: No Security or Night Reception: There was no visible security or reception staff at night. After 12 AM, the main door gets locked, and if guests need to leave early or return late, they must call a mobile number for assistance. While our driver mentioned it might be a local regulation due to military presence, we observed normal movements around the city at all times, thanks to the reassuring presence of the armed forces. No Room Service: There was no in-room dining available--not even for basic items like coffee, juice, or snacks. Guests are expected to go to the restaurant, which is inconvenient for those preferring to relax in their rooms. Inflexible Breakfast Timing: Breakfast service starts only at 8 AM. There is no provision for early breakfast or packed options for guests with early departures or sightseeing plans, which is quite surprising for a hotel catering to tourists. Cleanliness Issues: The wooden flooring in our room was sticky and clearly not well-maintained. Walking barefoot revealed dirt, especially noticeable when entering the bathroom. Wi-Fi Connectivity: The Wi-Fi was more of a formality--barely functional and unreliable throughout our stay. Power & Lift Issues: During power outages, the lift becomes non-functional, and guests staying on higher floors have no choice but to climb up several levels. What was disappointing was the lack of any assistance or empathy from staff during such situations. Faulty Amenities on Check-in: The room kettle and intercom were not working when we arrived. To their credit, these were replaced promptly after reporting. However, it appeared that the staff may simply rotate working equipment from one room to another as requests come in. What We Appreciated: Despite the shortcomings, the staff was quick to respond to calls for support--whether it was opening the door at night, replacing faulty items, or providing water bottles (which were missing at check-in). Their polite attitude and willingness to act promptly deserve appreciation. Overall: This can be considered a basic 2-star city hotel in Srinagar. What works well is its central location, with easy access to major areas, street shopping around Dal Lake, and plenty of very good restaurants within walking distance. For travelers seeking convenience over comfort, this may still serve as a practical choice. We hope the management takes note of the feedback to enhance the guest experience in the future.

We stayed in Hotel Pacific for 4 days .In our plan dinner was not included. But after eating here on the 1 st day we planned to have our 4 dinners inthe place. Very nice location as Dal lake was hardly 10 minutes walk .Every morning had excellent walk around it. Staff was very friendly and cooperative always smiling. I recommend to all to come and stay here whenever you plan to visit Shrinagar

Service was bad. Rooms were decent but no timely facilities especially when you have to travel 2 hours for sightseeing. Late breakfast and no hot water. Absolutely unacceptable attitude of staff especially the guy at the reception who'll blatantly lie to your face. Don't trust his words. Location is otherwise good but be mindful if you're on a time cruch. Also, there is a lot of electricity issue due to which the lift is shut down. While we were there, this happend regularly. The dinner menu is almost the same every night and so is the breakfast.

Great Location & Clean Rooms, But Disappointing Policies & Service Issues We recently stayed at this hotel and had a mixed experience. While there are certainly some positives, a few absurd policies and service inconsistencies left us disappointed. The Good: Excellent Location - Just a 1-minute walk from Dal Lake, making it incredibly convenient. Clean & Well-Maintained Rooms - The rooms were spotless and comfortable. Good Service - The staff was generally polite and responsive. The Disappointments: 1 Hot Water Timings - No 24/7 Availability Although the rooms have geysers, they do not work, and hot water is only available from 8 AM to 11 AM and 6 PM to 8 PM. If you want to take a shower outside these hours, you're out of luck, which is extremely inconvenient. 2 Food Service Issues Dinner Timing (8 PM - 10 PM) is reasonable, but food is never actually ready on time. Despite having a buffet, they only serve dinner in rooms and offer a pre-selected veg/non-veg option--you can't choose from the menu. If you want anything outside the fixed options, they ask you to order from Zomato or Swiggy, which defeats the purpose of an in-house restaurant. Rotis are made from maida, making them hard to chew, though overall, the food quality is decent. 3 Breakfast - A Major Letdown The breakfast buffet is extremely limited, offering only poha, one additional item, toast, and tea--not what you'd expect from a proper hotel. The biggest disappointment was their handling of eggs. On our first day, they outright refused to serve eggs, claiming they don't offer them at all. The next day, however, they offered us an omelet, which was confusing. When we asked about the inconsistency, we were shocked to learn that a large family had requested a fully vegetarian breakfast area, and the hotel simply complied--ignoring the needs of other paying guests. The receptionist admitted that someone had mistakenly told that family the hotel was vegetarian, leading to this ridiculous situation. Final Thoughts: While the location and cleanliness are excellent, the strange food policies, rigid service hours, and biased treatment of guests make this hotel hard to recommend. We expected professionalism and consistency, but instead, we got confusion and unfair prioritization of certain guests over others. Would we stay again? Probably not, unless they improve their service approach.

We recently stayed here as a part of Kashmir trip .. with stay of three nights in this hotel .. though there are many eateries available outside .. we preferred to have our dinner here only as it was good. Though breakfast options is very limited.. they are happy enough to serve egg options ..
