I recently visited Mumtaz , and unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. We arrived and were told there would be a short wait for food, but that "short wait" turned into an agonizing 1.5 hours before we were finally served. After placing our order for two pulaos, we waited yet another long stretch for our food. To our surprise, only one pulao arrived, and when we pointed out the mistake, the staff seemed indifferent. It took quite a while for them to acknowledge the issue. The service was extremely slow, and there seemed to be a lack of communication among the staff. Overall, we felt like our time was wasted, and the food didn't make up for the frustrating experience. I had high hopes for this place, but given the long wait, poor service, and errors with our order, I can't recommend it. There are better dining options in the area that offer both good food and better service.
A hotel inside a shopping complexes. The whole complex was shabby and cold. ||When we arrived the receptionist had poor understanding of English.||The hotel was completely empty and the restaurant had a sign saying "Opening Soon" printed on paper and stuck with tape. This was like a warning of a poorly operated establishment.||Rooms:|Warning Noise: look outside your window and check for the generator next to it. The first room we were put in was right next to it. When I asked to move they said it was not a problem it will be off in 30 minutes. It did go off but we had to bear that noise for too long.||Warning Cold: the room was like a fridge. It is large and sparsely furnished. There was no way the heater/AC was going to make it bearable. After two hours of complaining and multiple visits by "technicians" and other foolish people they moved us to a smaller room where at least a tiny bit of heat was coming from the heater/AC. They supplied another tiny fan heater and by about 11pm the room was bearable. The bathroom remained like a fridge.||Warning Dirty Bathroom: the bathroom had long hairs in the sink and on the floor. You could see dust in various places. The water that filled the bucket was yellowish! Rusting pipes or worse? They didn't switch on the hot water so we had to ask them. It obvious there is some pressure pump on the hot side but none on the cold supply so it was difficult to get warm water. It was either scolding hot or freezing with a tiny movement of the adjustment.||Warning Restaurant: the place had a forlorn and empty feeling. All the tables had a layer of dust which showed that they had no guests for a long time and nobody expected they would come.||The food was pathetic. ||Service: this place was like a comedy sketch. The characters were surly and not at all understanding to the meaning of dealing with guests and seemed completely oblivious to the obvious failures as though this was normal and to be expected. The owner must be loosing in crores their investment in this pathetic attempt at running a hotel.
Good Hotel, located on the road in center of city at Jehangir Chowk, they never force you to take cab packages from them in your srinagar trip. Breakfast provided is north indian veg and good quality. Parking is free in basement. Lift take you to the hotel that is available on 3rd floor. In below floors there is a small mall functioning with all restaurant and shops. Only thing I disliked is that they close Wi-Fi after 11 PM and AC sometimes simply doesn't work. Very neat and clean rooms though.
The hotel rooms are not clean and maintained. The air conditioner is not working. They don't have a proper power back up.They don't have WiFi or proper staff. They offer breakfast and dinner but the food served is not eatable. The cutlery and crockery is very dirty. We had to take our meals outside in spite of paying for breakfast and dinner.Therrs no one to serve food.We had avery bad experience.Worst hotel in Srinagar.
I had check in this hotel on 06th May 2016, Friday. My check out date was on 10th May 2016. The hotel booking was done by a tour operator "Veena World" for a group of 20 people. First of all the location of this hotel. this place is in a busy and dusty road in the Sarah City Centre Mall on the 3rd and 4th floor. The location is a big turnoff. About the hotel, the rooms are good with a decent balcony (unfortunately no good view from balcony). Room size is enough for around 2 to 3 people. Room rates are costly considering the area. There is nothing to do outside the hotel. This hotel does not have a play area or a garden. The dining area is good. Food was excellent and so was the service provided by the hotel. The rooms are well furnished. Only problem is that there are couple of mosques around the hotel which has some prayers going on early in the morning at 3:30 a.m to 5 a.m. This disturbs the sleep quality as the prayers are on the loudspeakers. As the hotel is located in the Sarah city centre, there are many shops where one can buy branded products. The staff is polite and responsive. Room service is good. There are some goverment shops just opposite to this hotel where one can buy Kasmiri handicrafts and clothes are reasonable price. There is no dedicated parking of this hotel. Vehicles has be parked on the main road.Would definitely try some other hotel next time preferably near Dal Lake in Srinagar.
We stayed there as part of tour and was booked by our tour group. Staff are very cooperative, its on top floor of a mall. Centre place strategically located for quick travel to other locations as Srinagar has rules for in and out timings for large vehicles like Bus used by tour group. High expectations from Srinagar hotel comes down as soon as we see the surrounding but nearby to lalchowk market and one can go shopping for stole, dress material easily also taste yummy kulfi.. locals also help. Food is manageable gets even with good nature and friendly staff.||||rooms are quiet large and have good space and are very comfortable so definitely value for money!
The hotel is ideally located in the heart of the city, very close to the main shopping market of Srinagar. The staff was extremely polite and friendly. The food was great. The only bad thing was that the hotel is located in a mall and in Srinagar you would want to stay in a hotel that gives you beautiful nature views. But that was made up for by the hospitality of the staff there. Overall a very good experience.
