Colonel's Retreat

Hotels rooms are outdated and owner is a retired colonel who also lives in the same homestay. Rooms are on first and second floor and owner lives in ground floor. There is real problem of car parking as owner parks hi car in the homestay and the guest parking is a small one outside but there cars are parked line by line which causes chaos. Owner is rude and doesnt have etiquettes how to talk to guest and food is also expensivs. Also when i went the pot in bathroom was not working and had to be changed because of that we had to use someone else bathroom. Overall not worth of the money.

I was looking for a very safe and peaceful place in jammu for my stay so I started searching for different kinds of them and then I found this place. Basically it's a retired Colonel's bungalow converted to home stays. Staff behaviour is very good and very quick. Our respected Colonel sir also stays here with family. Only one thing is there to keep in mind as this place has no restaurant but they provide you a short and small menu and there are couple of male cooks who prepare these food items. Jay Hind Sir ji.

I stayed at Colonel's retreat recently and I genuinely admired their hospitality. The whole staff, especially Mr. Vinod and Mr. Tilakraj were very helpful. I loved their food. The location is very close to the airport and easy to find. The rooms are spacious, clean and have plenty of storage space. I would love to visit it again in future. I must congratulate the owner, Mr. Bhavani for running such a lovely homestay and thank the entire staff for their service. If you are visiting Jammu for any purpose and are looking for a peaceful and friendly accomodation, you should definitely stay here. And I must add, as a solo woman traveller, I found 'Colonel's retreat' a very safe place!!

We had a short but fantastic stay. Our room was spacious and clean and super comfortable. Strong a/c! The staff are exceptional and go above and beyond. We were so well taken care of. The food is also wonderful and really reasonable. One of the family even came out early to drive us to the bus because we were trying to leave on a holiday and there were no taxis available. So kind. If you are in Jammu this is the place to stay!

The Best Place to stay in a Clean and Green environment. Home Cooked meals, hygienic. Courteous staff and a down to earth management. For me and my family it's a Home Away from Home. Clean AC rooms with clean washrooms. Best locality with a good market at a walking distance. 10 minutes from the Railway Station.

I must say this is one of the best Homestays in Jammu at this price range. The interiors are great and the staffs are super friendly. Stayed here for 8days and felt like home. They take care of cleaning and hygiene everyday.

Lovely guest house with a super nice staff, in a nice neighborhood. And when we ordered dinner, we got a fully home cooked meal which was really good. So all and all we were happy to book it and sad to leave.

Best space to book your stay if you plan to travel to Jammu ever. You feel like home here. Staff is extremely polite and serve food as you are in your own home. Their seved food is their USP I.e. Unique Selling Preposition. You can have coffee/tea while sitting in balcony surrounded by their small home garden. You can barely found more than 3-4 guests there because it is someone's apartment cum hotel. Therefore, I highly recommended it for people who don't like crowd and want to live in calm space with good food and of course, with too a good company.
