Regenta Hill Top Shimla

During our recent trip to Shimla, my friends and I stayed at this beautiful hotel, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our vacation. The location was perfect - nestled among the hills with breathtaking views and still close enough to all the main attractions. The rooms were spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with all the necessary amenities. We especially loved sitting on the balcony in the mornings, soaking in the fresh mountain air.||The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to assist us with sightseeing tips and local recommendations. The food at the hotel restaurant was delicious, offering a great variety of dishes to suit all our tastes. We also enjoyed the cozy common areas where we could gather in the evenings, playing games and sharing stories.

An excellent property with one of the Best view of entire Shimla. |Location is at the Hilltop so if you are travelling for the first time in the hilly terrain in India, so narrow roads and sharp curvy turns might scare you but once you get past this and reach the top; a beautiful scenic property awaits you with mesmerizing views of Shimla. |Rooms are there in 2 blocks, we had booked valley facing premium rooms in the first block on entrance. ( Tip: Try to book Junior Suite since its big and spacious)||Property Location excellent. ||Rooms were neat and clean. ||Breakfast and Dinner Buffet spread is decent and food really taste very good. ||Chef Vikas is master of cuisine's but two things that really stood out for us were Chole Bature and Black Channa with Puri's which can give any damn high flying restaurant in north India serving these specialties a run for its money.||The revolving restaurant offers Live music during the dinner time.||Staff is very warm and welcoming notable mentions :|General Manager Bhupinder, Manager on Duty Kapil, Pradeep. : They interacted with us from time to time and checked if everything was okay.||Front office Staff : Neelam , Jyoti, Ritika |The welcome drink offered was very nice and they are very helpful for arranging local sightseeing tours. (Tip: Pls do take their feedback on visiting places nearby, since they have ample of knowledge and know the place very well)||Restaurant and Buffet Section : Both Sahil and Anil are like gems of the restaurant always serving guest with smile and ensuring, guest enjoy the meals prepared by Master Chef Vikas. ||Overall we had a very good stay and would recommend this property to our friends and family for their trip to Shimla. ||Feedback to Hotel : |Try to have play area or some play room with some indoor board games at least that way it becomes helpful to keep kids engaged.

Disappointing Stay - Not Worthy of a 4-Star hotel I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and 3 days in a suite room, expecting a premium experience given its 4-star category. While the location was truly one of the highlights--offering a beautiful panoramic view of Shimla--the rest of the experience was far from satisfactory. What was good: * The hotel is situated in an excellent location with scenic views. * The food served was good in taste and quality. What needs serious improvement: 1. Staffing and Service: The hotel was severely understaffed, and that impacted our stay from the moment we arrived. There was no assistance with our luggage at the entrance; the guard stood by and simply watched us struggle with our bags without offering help. We had to carry our luggage ourselves to the reception. Even worse, when we reached our suite, the hotel had no staff available to deliver the luggage to the room--as is standard in premium hotels. Instead, the receptionist herself brought it up after a delay, which clearly highlighted the hotel's staffing issues. 2. Professionalism: The staff lacked basic hospitality etiquette. The front desk did not offer any welcome or brief us on meal timings or locations for breakfast, dinner, or high tea. Throughout our stay, staff members were not courteous or welcoming, and their overall demeanor didn't reflect the professionalism expected from a 4-star hotel. 3. Room & Cleanliness: Despite booking a suite, the room was quite average. The pillows provided had visible stains, and the bathroom amenities were below standard. The body lotion appeared to be mixed with water, and slippers were not provided unless specifically requested. These are very basic expectations in a hotel of this category. 4. Dining Experience: The restaurant was also severely understaffed, with only 1-2 people attending to all guests. Service was extremely slow--we had to wait up to 20 minutes just for basic items like bread. The cutlery and tableware used were of very low quality, more fitting for a roadside eatery than a 4-star property. 5. Checkout Experience: The lack of professionalism continued at checkout. Normally, any food or service charges are clearly itemized and signed off during the stay. However, the hotel claimed there was a "miscellaneous bill" without being able to present or explain it. This confusion delayed our checkout by over 20 minutes, despite me repeatedly informing them that I had a train to catch. There was no sense of urgency or concern from the staff. Final Verdict: Apart from its great location and decent food, this hotel fails to deliver on every other aspect expected of a 4-star property. The lack of staff, poor service, and unprofessional behavior made our stay frustrating and disappointing. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a premium or hassle-free stay in Shimla.

The stay at Regenta Shimla was very pleasant and nice. The staff is extremely courteous, service is fast and everyone is cooperative. I stayed two nights with my parents in the Club Room which was very spacious and well maintained. The overall maintenance of the hotel is very good. The breakfast has good options and the i would recommend dinner a la carte at the restaurant as the food preparation is very good. They have a revolving restaurant which is quite unique andthere is live music on the weekends which was quite nice. The only issue i had is when i ordered for a glass of Jacob Creek Red wine without asking for the price it turned out to be pretty pretty expensive at Rs. 1000 a glass unlike the other items on teh bar menu. But definitely recommended as a great place to stay.

A Hidden Gem in the Hills!" My stay at Regenta Hill Top Shimla was absolutely amazing. The view from the hotel is breathtaking, especially during sunrise. The rooms were clean, cozy, and well-equipped. Staff was courteous and always ready to help. Their restaurant served delicious food, and the overall vibe of the place was peaceful and relaxing. Highly recommend this hotel for a peaceful getaway in the mountains!

Great Stay with Minor Flaws" The location and ambiance of Regenta Hill Top are top-notch. I really enjoyed the scenic beauty from my balcony, and the food was impressive. However, the service was a bit slow during check-in, and hot water was slightly inconsistent. Despite these small issues, the hospitality and comfort made up for it. Would definitely return!
