Dolphin Cottage Home Stay

There are some 60-70 steep steps that you have to climb which might tire you. So it is not advisable for older people or people with bad knees or bad stamina. We didn't mind it too much because once you reach the top the view from your room is totally worth all the climbing.||||The room was very spacious and was surrounded by big windows and 2 balconies. Day time you can see the Himalayan mountains and night time you can see the beautiful city lights.||||The location is 20 minutes drive from the main city. It was secluded from the city yet not inaccessible, which was great for us. It costs Rs.300 for one way taxi into the city. And the hotel staff will provide you with some taxi contacts. There is also a small water fall about 2 km from this place, which is a good and small trek from the hotel. If you want to spend all your time in the city then this place might not be good for you.||||The cons are that the room service was very slow. Even though we ordered couple of hours before, the food delivery was delayed further. Room service could have been better. Food was okay, the choice was very limited but decently priced. ||We also had problems with water supply and hot water in the bathroom. Though the hotel staff tries to help you as soon as you inform them. There is mainly one person managing everything, so some delay is expected.||||Overall it was a great stay, nice people and beautiful scenery, all in an affordable price.

Location is far from ISBT shimla but views from rooms are pretty good. If you have personal vehicle or booked taxi then no problem at all. Food is the BEST thing I found in there. Its hygienic, healthy and tasty like we are at home. They have a cook who makes your breakfast lunch dinner...

It's wonderful place becouse of nature, mountan view. It's situated outside of city in silent place, but you can reach main sightseeng very easy by bus or taxi. Here is good tasty vegetarian indian food, hospitable staff and comfortable rooms. It's really home-stay. But you should be rather fit to go upstairs from road to hotel. ||Also there you can have a yoga lessons with experienced teacher.||Owner of Dolphin Cottage helped us to find good car with driver for next 10-days trip in normal prise.

Okay place. Not good at all if you have checked in at night(around 10 or 11).Don't expect good food. Even washroom was not cleaned. They even charged 400 bucks for our little puppy.. although we stayed for only 8 or 9 hours. Too costly. Parking was not present. Roads were way narrow and the hotel is situated downhills. ONLY BEST PART IS THE VIEW...GLITTERING HILLS AT NIGHT AND SOOTHING GREENERY BY THE DAY.

This place has the best view one can ask for. Pros:- Beautiful view. Pleasant & clean Room. Good tea. Very Helpful Caretaker Lalit. Price. Can be reached by public transport as well, but if you have your own vehicle it is the best. Cons:- Very far away from main city. restricted expensive food option

It was most horrifying experience I ever had. The photo uploaded is deceptive please do not believe it. I had booked the cottage and I had made the payments in advance. I was is constant communication with the manager of the cottage who also stated that that my booking was confirmed and the location was easily approachable. When I actually went on 04.06.2016 to Shimla I could reach the place with great difficulty as it is at an isolated place with very narrow and broken road. When I reached the spot I could not find it as it is shown in the photo. When I inquired from the person there about my booking I was informed that they did not have room. The manger with whom I was talking was not there, on phone he told that he would arrange a better accommodation, the alternative accommodation was even worst so I had to cancel the booking. Please do not go there, they are unprofessional and have no courtesy.

The place is nice and the view is breathtaking. The only drawback is that this place is so far away from the main town in the summer hills that if you do not have your personal vehicle it will be very difficult to commute as there is no cab or public transport is available in this place.

Very cozy place.view is beautiful. Homely atmosphere.its bit far main city but worth staying, we had our own vehicle which made it more easier to locate the place.
